I never rated this song, but since getting Live at Milton Keynes, I've even found myself singing it in public!
I think it's the energetic vocals from Freddie and Roger that did.
Does this kind of thing ever happen to you? I remember a friend telling me he never rated 'Hammer to Fall' until it was released as a single - I never rated it until Live Aid! A year later seemed bad enough, but 22 years for Action this Day!
Say what you want, I think Action This Day is one of the best tracks on the album. Very well-organized, good lyrics, a strong beat, and surprisingly good use of synths and saxophone.
Obviously it sounds better live, like at Milton Keynes or Osaka in 1982. Queen always kept a rock feeling, even in their most disco of songs.
Action This Day is, for my money, one of the most underestimated songs that Queen has ever made, and I stand by everything that I have said!

Worst vocal delivery, I totally agree, but it sure rocks!!!!!
