my first wedding anniversary is quickly approaching, and i do not have money for an expensive gift :( actually, i haven't planned anything yet either. any ideas for a special, memorable first anniversary? i mean we go out to eat like every week, so going to a restaraunt wouldn't be special...i'm tired of the same hum drum things...but i'm not on budget for some extravagent hot air balloon ride hah....any help would be appreciated!! what have some of you zoners done to celebrate an anniversary with a spouse or significant other?

Well, a pocketknife always grabs a man's attention, so I suggest a good knife, like an original Swiss Army knife, if he's the fix-it type. Or if he smokes, a Zippo lighter will be greatly appreciated.
This is just a possible suggestion. You could secretly take him to where he proposed to you and you get down on one knee and say something to the effect of one year down, a lifetime to go. Or the Swiss Army knife would be cool.
I just pasted my one year anniversary in Sept. and what I did for my anniversary was take off work!! LOL We took the day, just her and I, and we did what we wanted to. We drove to Baltimore MD. to the national aquarium. No, it wasn't a romantic trip by any means, but it was just nice to spend the time together. We don't get to do that much with our busy lives. It was really nice. She's my best friend and I just wanted to be with her. OH...I made her a CD with all kinds of special songs on it. We don't have a lot of money so we didn't spend a lot.
Good luck and congrats in advance!

*makes note: Get Chris a Swiss Army Knife for next anniversary*
...oh, and congratulations. :^)
hey mayfan! i live 20 minutes from baltimore! where are you at? i've been wanting to go to the aquarium, but i haven't made the time yet (i just moved up here 6 months ago) thanks for all of your ideas!
Well sort of, but not just giving head, I was talking about swallowing. A romantic meals nice, but if you're on a tight budget what better gift to give and receive.
Its true, honest its what every man wants. Ive been waiting ten years for the wife to take the hint, but what do I get, socks, a shirt or if Im lucky a pair of pants. NO.
I agree with you Miss James, of course there is more to it than just *that*. The romantic meal, the weekend away, the swiss army knife are all beautiful moments to share together, but they all lead to one place, the bedroom. And in the bedroom thats what I believe the *majority* of men really want. Its purely a sexual need, and I see know real reason for a man or woman to deny themselves that pleasure, if both are happy to do it.
You DID ask Bambam.
