Is Queen a 60´s or a 70´s or an 80´s band?
But, what could happened if we had these 4 brilliant guys (Fred, Brian, John & Roger) today.
What could be Queen now at days. Let´s imagine that Queen never happened. 2004 = A new band called Queen has launched their first CD: Queen.
What would be the impact of Queen now at days? I think they would be the Greatest Band; just what they deserve. (Just see the impact of new bands, even if those bands don´t have talent).
If I have this crazy thoughts is because I think that Queen have never sounded like an OLD band.
What do u think?
I'm not really sure how Queen would fare in times like these. Rap and pop is dominating the charts, but every once in awhile, you do get a great rock band. I think if Bohemian Rhapsody was released nowadays, it would either be a complete flop and have people wondering what the hell Queen were thinking, or would be a huge success. Which was exactly the same situation the band faced in releasing it in the 70's.
I don't think they would've been Darkness wannabes cos I think the Darkness are Queen wannabes... The Darkness is heavily inspired by Queen...or so I thought.

Queen is the only band that had no.1 hits in the 70's, 80's, 90's and in THIS century. Their music is still hugely popular nowadays. So Queen would be able to make their own challenges in whatever time.

Jess, what I said about the Darkness and Queen was a joke btw...
Well, technically, if Queen had never existed, The Darkness would be completely original. So if Queen came on the scene after them, they'd be 'copying' The Darkness. But then again, maybe The Darkness would've never been inspired to make music. It really makes you think just how influential Queen were.
Well, I would most certainly appreciate it, but that is easy for a Queen lover to say, isn't it? Rap and pop dominate the charts alongside with alternative, which usually translates into crap. That does not go for ALL alternative music, but lets face it: It isn't up to par with say....uh...the best band in the world?? Queen, duh. Anyway, it would not really be recognized by society and the critics. Damn the radio and the stupid dominating, talentless losers, heh.

You would find some people here who thinks Queen isn't the best IN THE WORLD.
In today's music industry? Queen wouldn't make it to 'Queen II'.
the business is much different than it was 30+ years ago. no label nurtures artists anymore. if your first single doesn't shoot to the top five, you're done for immediately. if it doesn't debut at #1, you'll probably never see your sophmore effort on that label, at the very least.

Queen would likely do horribly on the modern pop charts (which is kind of a complement as all that does well is complete shit). The music industries and DJ's rejected anything that sounds ver unique and/or different so people probably wouldn't even get a chance to hear BoRap on the radio b/c DJ's wouldn't play it b/c it (gasp) doesn't sound exactly the same as every other song they are playing.

Amen to that. Mind you it could be a 'Whoa, bro I'm a ho, joo hear dat new 'Queen' song on da booommmmmmmmm box! It be phat!'
'How do you pronounce 'ph' when you are speaking any differently to saying 'f' bro?'
'I don't know, but yo!'
Hard to imagine, they were too good to be a band of nowadays.
Maybe they'd stick a "The" in front of their name and call themselves "The Queens" and then they'd be part of this new generation of rock bands popping out of nowhere, make one hit album and then disappear because there are too many other new groups who make more money for the record companies!
Nah... I don't want to imagine that. It was good as it was.
I would rather like to have lived back then!!
