Well guys I've read a lot of fuss here about Queen Productions, the FM Box Set mistakes, all those discusses about who are Greg, JSS etc. and would like to say something about business side of QP.
Let me explain you what does it mean - business side of Queen's works means that you release DVDs with previously released live shows (in edited form), though most of non-European and non-USA Queen fans doesn't have DVD players. Let face it, guys, but most of people in South America, Asia, Africa and East Europe doesn't have enough money to buy a DVD player and it's truth you can't refuse! They're watching for all these topics about what you'd like to see more 'Queen At The Bowl' or 'Queen At The Wembley', but they have not any care about it because it's impossible to them to watch even one of them.
I must tell you that a huge part of Queen fans have never seen The Magic Years anthology even. The other true thing is that less than 5 per cent of people in East Europe uses international credit cards. We use cash here because of our economic system and that's reality. So all these 'top 100 Queen bootlegs' or '46664 CD' are unavailable for most of us (except people from large cities like Moscow - I can make two steps and buy ANY Queen CD or DVD and actually I have them all, but if you go just for 100 kms away from Moscow you'd hardly find even non-pirate CDs and MCs are still popular there), and do you really think that QP has any care about it? They're doing their business for guys who can pay and buy their production.
Imagine that you go to cinema and watch a movie and then come back home and see over the Internet that the director of that movie is going to release his 'own director's edit with previously unseen footages' DVD and what you have to do? You gotta go and pay again and again for something you've already watched, just because of some add mins! The same thing goes with Queen - we've bought 'Queen At The Wembley' because of very few songs (though you can hear them on CD) and of second disk, haven't we? 'Queen At The Bowl' - well, that's okay, but have you never seen it before? I don't know how about you but I have, because it was even broadcasted over one of our public TV channels some years ago. But you have to go and pay your money for things you've seen before (this is to the guys who's so pity about buying 'Mr Bad Guy' and 'Barcelona' in the FM Box set) and you'd be again watch for Freddie's 'Huh! Are you ready brothers and sisters?' before 'Somebody To Love', though you've seen it on Magic Years, Rare Live and Live at MK. That's business.
If they'd ask DoRo to make a sequel of 'Champions of the World' with the same content except five mintues addition about Queen Rocks, Bejart's ballet and WWRY show and release it - you'd go and buy it.
I am not sure Brian, Roger and John has something to do with this, they give permission, write messages to sleeve and that's all. But on other side I must tell you I'd preffer to buy QP's original releases than some things I don't know where they came from (this is to John SS, I very much respect him, but you know I have never listen 'Karaoke Hits' and would like to have the similar CD on Queen Box Set, though it already exists on some Japanese releases or wherever, because now and again - I cannot buy rare (for us) karaoke disks!).
And another one thing is about does have to ask QP fans' opinion what they should release and what not. My answer is no. We are not Queen and how we can advise them what to do or what not? Can you imagine situation when we all are writing letters to Brian and tell him what songs he has to write for his album? I can't.
And for example: my native language is Russian and of course if i'd write posts and replies here on Russian it'd be more clear and full, but just for Russian-speaking Queen fans. So I have to write them on English, though my English is not very good and very poor, I know, but if I want you to understand me I have to do it. The same g
