I don't understand why Greg misses the point on the anonymity thing. Perhaps the problem is that this discussion is really not suited for publication on a forum. If it were "private" (as in email) then I would agree that hiding behind an alias is deceptive. But forums are generally alias driven, and I don't understand why Greg misses this point or refuses to accept this. The profiles can provide as much or as little information as the individual cares to give. And that is as it should be. And that is the opinion of a 29 year old male. |

I suppose the first question that needs answered is whether or not this really is Greg Brooks. I mean, come on be serious. Do you honestly believe for a single second that Queen would have anything to do with such a petty, small minded, overly sensitive pratt who throws a hissy fit whenever someone questions their ability to do a job properly? OF COURSE THIS IS THE REAL GREG BROOKS! Cast your minds back to the time we had the sheer audacity to question Jacky's running of the official fan club. She signed up to Queenzone like shit off a shovel and threw a right old tantrum. Turns out that it was our fault for the dwindling membership because we were demanding value for money and that as fans we owed her a living. Then there was the poodle headed axe-man himself, Brian May. He threw his teddy out of the pram when a couple of so-called Queen fans (his words, not mine) cracked a few jokes at his expense. I myself was once banned from the official fan club chat-room because I said that Crystal's stories were boring. It turned out that Crystal was in the chat room at the time using a nickname (how cowardly can you get eh? using a nickname in an internet chat room of all things) and I was booted for fear of offending someone with a close connection to Queen. Here's an idea. If Queenzone represents such an insignificant percentage of Queen fans throughout the world, why not ignore it? At least that way you could walk away with a little dignity intact. This is how I see it and feel free to correct me any time you like. Queenzone aint as small as you would like to think. As a matter of fact I think we come second only to QOL as forums for Queen fans go, but because we run a policy of no censorship, fans are free to say what they like and the money-men don't like it. Queen are on a downward spiral and with nothing new to offer, it's only a matter of time before the whole organisation goes tits up. But there will always be those wonderful Stepford fans to provide the odd hand out. They'll buy any old pish just so long as nobody wises them up to the fact that they're being fleeced. This is where Queenzone becomes a thorn in the side of Queen productions or for that matter anyone else trying to make a few quid out of them. Of couse it's not the likes of me they have to worry about. I'm just an overweight buffoon who makes up bullshit stories, It's not the endless streams of teenagers who are only here to increase their post count, it's not the spammers who post never ending threads about their weenis, vagina or poo holes. The people they fear are the likes of Mr Scully, John Stuart, Penetration Guru, Hangman and especially YourValentine. These are highly respected and knowledgable fans who's influence can hit Queen Productions where it counts. Their pockets. Of course this will be seen as a personal attack on Greg Brooks himself and not his work, but that's the kind of thing we have come to expect from Queen Productions and all their subsiduaries. I certainly won't be buying anything from them again and I urge others to do the same. Come on folks, lets spread the word and we'll soon see how insignificant Queenzone is. Scott Simpson (fatty) |

Greg, QZ might COMPRISE a small percentage of QUEEN fans, but that percentage is not what it REPRESENTS. Any statistical mathematic can explain it to you. Not being one myself, I dare not. But please feel free to ask in this forum. I am pretty sure that at least one of the QUEENZoners will be connected to that field. |

The statistical point would go something like this... There are say a million "active" Queen fans The two Queen forums number say 1000 people. 100 of them are "active" posters. If 25 of those posters are critical of a release, there's no statistical reason why the proportion doesn't also apply to any other sample group, meaning 25% of all "active" Queen fans would also feel the same way. Obviously this is generalised, but the underlying principle is sound. |
