Hello again Luca (Hangman)
Yes, I just found our emails again. Sorry I could not find them quickly enough yesterday. I was not trying to be disrespectful to you, I simply could not remember specifically what subject we had talked about. But now I do. You understand.
Luca.... It is MUCH nicer to call you by your real name. Hangman means nothing at all – in fact it only gives a possibly dark impression of you – because of course HANGMAN is not a nice thing at all, whereas in reality you are a good person – not someone who murders people with rope around their neck!!!
Hangman wrote to Greg: Your feedback is much appreciated, but I feel like disappointed: you just wrote me to point out the “identity” matter. Well, I’m sorry but it’s totally useless because it won’t lead anywhere. Me and all the other users of the QZ board and all the users of the whole internet forums won’t change the way to relate to boards: you use nicknames.
I accept this but I do not agree. If you have something to say, anyone at all, then just be entirely honest and open. If what you have to say is so bad or controversial, or likely to inspire adverse hate email or such like, then you have to think about whether you really want to say this thing or not. If you go ahead and say or write something bad just because you know you can not be traced, that is cowardly and inexcusable.
If you feel strongly enough about making the point, then fine, go ahead, but don’t hide behind a false identity, as if wearing a mask. We all must have the courage of our convictions and views. We should all be accountable for what we say and suggest and do – not only in face to face, one-to-one, but in letters, emails and fax. If you will not stand up and account for your own words, then you do not have the true conviction of what you say. Imagine if Nelson Mandela tried to be the great spokesman he was/is, if he also tried to remain nameless and faceless. I hear what you say, but it is completely without firm, solid basis.
Hangman wrote to Greg: I have to give my 2 cents about all this matter. You are a very lucky guy, as you have access to the QUEEN archives. Queen are one of the best rock band ever surfaced on the earth and you have such privileges..
Yes, I realise I have a privileged job. I know this – you are correct. But that does not mean I am without my own opinion. When I am attacked, I will defend myself. I spent 16 years teaching Shotokan karate to children and adults and I taught that when someone comes at you, you stand your ground, stand upand be accountable, do what you have to do, and stand proud. Do not hide behind someone else. Never hide.
My job, and association with QPL does not insulate me from the occasional nasty fan and email. I am most often attacked, Luca, by nameless faceless people too feeble to tell me who they are. I respect anyone that says to my face “Sorry Greg, but that project was rubbish” or “Your comments were not good”, etc. I simply expect the common courtesy of knowing who it is that is saying it.
Hangman wrote to Greg: why wasting your time on hard fights on an internet forum?
Sometimes I like to have ‘a go’ myself. Sometimes Luca, I piss people off like they piss me off. You should see some of the immature emails get from some very silly and annoying people who truly do not know what day it is. Emails from people who got into Queen in the 1990s or later – AFTER Queen had finished!!!!!
You are correct, I agree with you here, we usually regard the pointless arguments and debates on these sites, as a waste of time. But sometimes I like to be vocal and annoy those who do not think I should have a strong opinion.
Usually I avoid such sites, but occasionally, like you guys, I enjoy a heated debate too. Why should I sit silently and take the (sometimes) unfounded crap that uninformed people accuse me of????
Lots of QZ people say constructive things, while others do talk crap and are regarded by other fellow Q
"from people who got into Queen in the 1990s or later – AFTER Queen had finished!!!!!"
I wonder what QP will think about his employee, doing such statements who insults big part of the actual and future consumers of the queen products
Do you realize that?
I think you DONT KNOW how internet works
you are being unrespectful with the most respected queen community online
here is a lot of people who respect the qp and you work too, but with those arguments, attacking YV who are one of the nicest people in this community, you are damaging only to yourself.
I REALLY HOPE
REALLY that you arent greg brooks,
because a friend of mine who knows you has telling me only good things about you and i think this cant be real.
if you are really greg, you will make a good work if you defend privately to the people you think is attacking you, theres no need of go on with this, because "words can only do harm"
I think you work with queen is difficult and often people will not understand it, but thats part of the job, dont make it personal.
This board is full of people like me who obviously
wants just rare stuff published, because we just buyed all the stuff.....
people like me who GOT into queen in 1990
spent a whole salary to buy things like the Freddie mercury Box, so...
Calm down, sometimes silence is the best

GB and sth constructive...? The last couple of posts just showed us how constructive he is... I would love to be wrong and than I would eat my words together with my hat! I would love to do that! But... can't see it happening...
> Emails from people who got into Queen in the 1990s or later – AFTER Queen had finished!!!!!
Now this is "personal". Not that I'm going to attack you or anything. Neither I'm going to brag about what have my research given to Queen community, even though I do know it has been very useful (even if it's for very specific tastes).
The thing is, what's the point in insulting people based on nonsense as when did they hear the band for the first time or how many posts did they put in queenzone? Having known the band after it ended doesn't mean you don't know anything good about them, or writing 2 thousand topics in a forum doesn't mean you don't have a life or friends or whatever. Not to mention the whole thing about nicknames... no comments about that.
What's next? Insulting people who have black hair, people whose names begin with vowels, or people whose dog's race written in Japanese has more than four characters?
