I left off 'God Save The Queen' but who really needs to hear that again anyway? I chose to use the order of tracks as they appeared on the albums, rather than by single releases since there were album tracks from 'The Eye'. My test pressing included the full-length 'More of that Jazz' and excluded 'Flash', but it suddenly hit me that 'More of that Jazz' is just the same 44 seconds looped for 4:30 so I did my edit and had room for 'Flash' ;)
Volume Two will be in the works very soon.
It sounds great! I didn't have to make any new level adjustments. My amplified 'Eye' tracks seemed to pretty much match up with remastered karaoke stuff.
The one exception is AOBTD, which for some reason always sounds weaker and lower in volume than tracks surrounding it. It's that way on the 1998 karaoke, the DVD and the remaster. So I boosted the bass a bit and that seemed to do the trick.
I hope I've got enough material for two more discs. It's too much for one. This first one worked out as basically an expanded and rechronologized version of the first karaoke disc. The 2nd karaoke disc alone comes to about 69 minutes and then there's the DVD bonuses and more 'Eye' tracks. I'll add 'Machines' and 'Forever' too.. Forever will probably be the final track, out of order.
Or I could do the alternate versions back-to-back like in the Freddie box ;) For example there's two versions of AKOM & HFE, where the karaokes still have backing vocals and the Eye versions don't. Oh, the possibilities!
I made a compilation called 'John Deacon's Queen songs'(politically correct title) and, as you may guess, it's a compilation with all his songs.
The tracklisting is made cronologically. If you see any mistake or miss something, please let me know.
01 - Misfire
02 - You're My Best Friend
03 - You And I
04 - Spread Your Wings
05 - Who Needs You
07 - If You Can't Beat Them
08 - In Only Seven Days
09 - Another One Bites The Dust
10 - Need Your Loving Tonight
11 - Execution Of Flash
12 - Arboria (Planet Of The Tree Men)
13 - Cool Cat
14 - Back Chat
15 - I Want To Break Free
16 - Pain Is So Close To Pleasure
17 - Friends Will Be Friends
18 - One Year Of Love
19 - My Baby Does Me
20 - Rain Must Fall
21 - My Life Has Been Saved
Let me know if 'My Baby Does me', 'Rain Must Fall' and 'My Life Has Been Saved' are truly written by John, and if I missed something.
Thank you.
I made a compliation of what I think are underrated songs, with one or two from each album. The tracklist is:
1. - Doing All Right
2. - My Fairy King
3. - Ogre Battle
4. - Misfire
5. - Bring Back That Leroy Brown
6. - Good Company
7. - White Man
8. - Sheer Heart Attack
9. - All Dead, All Dead
10. - If You Can't Beat Them
11. - Dead On Time
12. Rock It (Prime Jive)
13. - Back Chat
14. - Cool Cat
15. - Keep Passing The Open Windows
16. - Princes Of The Universe
17. - Was It All Worth It
18. - I Can't Live With You
19. - You Don't Fool Me
Good work, guys :) I did a Deacon one as well, but I didn't include the Flash Gordon tracks as I didn't have that CD at the time. LOL.
Here's how volume two of The Instrumental Works is shaping up:
01 - Under Pressure (karaoke)
02 - Radio Ga Ga (karaoke, outro restored)
03 - It's A Hard Life (karaoke)
04 - Machines (12" collection)
05 - I Want To Break Free (karaoke, intro restored)
06 - Hammer To Fall (The Eye)
07 - One Vision (karaoke)
08 - A Kind Of Magic (The Eye)
09 - Friends Will Be Friends (karaoke)
10 - Who Wants To Live Forever (karaoke)
11 - Gimme The Prize (The Eye)
12 - Don't Lose Your Head (The Eye)
13 - Princes of The Universe (The Eye)
14 - Forever (AKOM remaster)
15 - Khashoggi's Ship (The Eye)
16 - The Miracle (karaoke)
17 - I Want It All (The Eye/karaoke re-edit)
18 - The Invisible Man (karaoke)
19 - Breakthru (karaoke)
20 - Was It All Worth It (original/The Eye re-edit)
21- Chinese Torture (Miracle remaster)
That comes to 795 MB so it seems almost perfect. (about 807 will fit on an 80 minute CD)
One glaring exception is 'A Dozen Red Roses'. I simply don't have this on CD though I do have good quality files of both the original and extended, I don't care for it much. The short instrumental of DLYH from The Eye is good enough for me.
So disc three will have 7 tracks from Innuendo, 7 from MIH (I won't include track 13, LOL) and then I'll add the Annie Crummer instrumental AOBTD and fill it with alternate versions if necessary.
