Queen - The Works tour (my first concert ever) All following concerts were in Vredenburg, Utrecht, The Netherlands. This is a small concert hall (also used for classical concerts). Because it is so small, the atmosphere is very warm, personal. As if you're just visiting an artist in his house (ok, mansion) Youssou N'Dour Joe Satriani Fish |

I'm not a huge concertgoer, but I think the best show I ever saw was David Byrne a few years back in a local club. |

And I almost forgot the Really Hot Chilli Peppers tribute band at the Half Moon Pub in Paignton, Devon, July 2003! |

Hey Mrs Taylor My girlfriend and I have been waiting to go to a Simply Red concert for so long. He tours the States very rarely so it's hard to see him around here. We actually had our chance to see him last year (first U.S. tour since 1992), but then my girlfriend had mid term exams that same week and was absolutely busy with work and study. We hope Mick Hucknall and Simply Red will be touring the States soon... hopefully. |

My Top 5: Brian May in Hamburg 93 & 98 Iron Maiden Hamburg 99 Kiss Hamburg 97 Mike Oldfield Hamburg 99 |
David Jones 13.10.2004 14:22 |
My favourite gig ever was probably Mansun at Central Station, Wrexham, in 2002, the one and only time I got to see them. Little did I know at the time that they would split up after the tour and the new songs they were previewing would not get released until a couple of weeks ago! I wish I'd taken a recorder to catch it on tape! Electric Six at Central Station in 2003 was also a great gig, very energentic and I was taken aback by seeing twin lead guitars for the first time when I saw Wishbone Ash live at Telford's Warehouse in Chester in 2004. Off to see Bloc Party hopefully this weekend, wonder whether that will rate up there?! |

Penis - Vagina 13.10.2004 15:16 |
Probably Pat Benatar with Red Rider opening, 1983 I think. A close 2nd would be Loverboy with Joan Jett, probably the same year. Hall & Oates were lots of fun though.. the saxist came into the audience and ran around. Willie Nelson was quite fun circa 1984. |
Matti 13.10.2004 15:33 |
Hm.. Probably a Styx concert I went too....It was fun though. |
deleted user 13.10.2004 15:45 |
I am guessing since I have only gone to one real concert, I am going to have to go with that one. Michael W. Smith and Mercy Me (2004) and the company was great! |
LiveAidQueen 13.10.2004 17:28 |
I saw Van Halen (Yes with Hagar...) Sept 5. and it was unbelievable...I can't believe how great they still look and sound. It was the best...Whooooo!!! VH!!!! :-)) |
LiveAidQueen 13.10.2004 17:30 |
Ohh I also saw Fleetwood Mac, it was okay... |
Mr.Jingles 13.10.2004 17:38 |
I saw Fleetwood Mac too... and it was a boring one to be honest. |
SergeantPepperDG 13.10.2004 17:46 |
*grumble* I've never been to a concert. There aren't many concerts that I'm that interested in going to anyway. I once had the oppurtunity to go to a Bob Dylan concert, when I was 10 or 11. *sigh* All I have are 3 Queen concerts that I've downloaded in the past few weeks. Even though I love those, it's no fun watching them by myself. Then I feel bad when I make others watch, cause I know they don't really want to. I've been to a couple school band concerts. Do those count? |

Top 5 Queen 1978 Pretenders 1980 ELO 1981 Brian May 1993 Trans-Siberian Orchestra 2003 I've been to many others, from more Queen, more Pretenders, to Frampton, Heart, Santana, Bruce Springsteen, U2, Elton, Billy Joel, B52's, Eagles, Doobie Brothers, Coldplay, The Darkness etc, etc,...but those were my absolute favorite 5 shows. :-) |
jericho05 13.10.2004 18:04 |
Five of my favorites but maybe not THE top five: Queen - Toronto 1982 Grateful Dead - Toronto 1987 Brian May (opening for GNR and also on his own) - Hamilton and Toronto 1993 The Kinks - Toronto 1983 Dave Matthews Band - Toronto - 2004 Not necessarily my favorites... I have also seen Pink Floyd (not with Waters) , The Stones , Supertramp and The Eagles among about 200 shows. I saw Peter Gabriel twice on the "So" tour and one time was one of my favorite shows , the second time 6 months later one of my worst. I saw Fleetwood Mac in the early 90's one of the times they were disinegrating and they were pretty bad. I could name other great ones and crappy ones ... maybe later! |
jericho05 13.10.2004 18:06 |
Oh Janet you saw ELO!! Awesome!! |
deleted user 13.10.2004 18:38 |
Janet, do you know if the Trans-Siberian Orchestra are touring now? I saw that my sister got a notice from ticketmaster.com saying they were touring - I thought you might be interested to know, just in case you would want to check it out! |

1. Brian May, 1998 2. Rush, Sept. 2004 3. Yes, 1996 (?) Brian is obvious, but I must say Rush last month was something to remember for me. Another dream went true. And Yes, well, fantastic sound, amazing music and great Steve Howe. |

Bullwinkle in Toronto 1981 at the Police Picnic Joan Jett had tomatoes thrown at her!! |
Saint Jiub 13.10.2004 22:38 |
When I saw Joan Jett she was the opening act for the Police, and her show was full of energy and vibe - perfectly setting setting the stage for the Police. |
