Why is Jim Hutton's book so difficult to find? Is it out of print? I see used ones on amazon (and other sites ) for about $60-70 (sorry...I don't know the international equivalent). Is the book worth $60?
I wouldn't buy it for $60. If you're looking to have the book just for information sake, you can definitely find a cheaper used copy. It pops up on Ebay all the time for much less than it is on Amazon. I think I paid $20 for my paperback copy a few months ago.

The book is not worth $70,unless you want to know the disappointing last words of freddie or the cheap shots taken at mary, or mind numbing useless detail. yes it is out of print you should ask around and see if anyone has a copy that you know.

Search ebay. usually a few lying around. Just wait for the last minute until you bid. Some are ridiculously expensive, true. I snagged one for $10. Just be patient.
Because we're in the U.S. and I don't think it was released here to begin with. I got a used paperback for $3.59 through Ebay back in January. You just have to keep looking.
I've been looking around a lot for the past few days. Most of them are from the UK...

Aw...I want one. I was searching for awhile before, but I never found one on eBay...I must be really bad at it. If that's even possible... *goes searching*...

How did you pay for it? I only have a US credit card. Will amazon automatically convert the price to US dollars and charge the correct amount. The cheapest I could find, with shipping was about 22 pounds. I used a currency converter online (got from Google, so I don't know how accurate it is) and that came out to about $40. Still a lot...but I am curious as to how they handle different currencies.
Your card can be from any country, that doesn't matter. The conversion is handled automatically. The rate changes all of the time so you won't know the exact amount until the charge shows up with your bank.
My Freddie box at Amazon UK was 87.33 GBP and my card was actually charged $156.75. Yet at today's rate it would be $156.37 (not much different) so it can vary a bit day by day.
Here's a simple currency converter: link or at Yahoo: link
My friend found it on ebay for really cheap and got it for me for christmas. Best gift ever.

I'm looking for one too! It will be really amusing to watch us 'fighing over it' when a reasonably priced one finally does come up on ebay.
While on the subject of books....
(1) Has anyone read the book "Innuendoes"? I'm reading it now and was wondering what other people's opinions on it are?
(2)What is your faveorite Queen-related book? or all fairly bad?
Hmm, it seems I've got a guardian angel. I just wanted to ask some questions about Jim's book and was just thinking whether to put them in the Personal section or in this one, when this topic came along. So I'll just slip my questions in here and wait for a response...
1)Is there any way to download Jim's book from the Web? Or, if not, is there any site featuring fragments of it? Before trying to buy one on eBay, I'd really like to take a glance at what's written in it and how it's written (though I read an online article by Jim and I loved it. OK, the guy is not a writer and there were some silly things in there, e.g. the price he had to pay for some freesias, but I do like the love story).
2) A month or so ago, somebody asked where does Jim live, in order to drop him a line and Fatty told him to contact the editor of the book. As I don't have the book, could anyone please write down for me that adress? After reading, I just had the feeling I'd like to write anything to him...
I bought Mercury and Me from E-Bay last year, for a couple of pounds. I was not very impressed with it though.
I'm desperate to read Innuendos, I've heard it is extremely good!
Yea Innuendoes is really interesting!!! I can hardly put it down, which has led to problems related to shirking responsibilities to read it (lol, i'm hopeless)
If you're looking for it, I bought it from powellbooks.com a few weeks ago for less than $30
