I'm hungry. And because I'm one of those bootstrap-type ladies (heh, heh) I wish to take care of this from scratch.
No I don't.
But I like to cook. Or, more specifically, to throw lots of dessert-style things in a pan and freeze until solid. But actual cooking is okay too.
Anyone have any good recipes you would like to share with the rest of us? I'm thinking about making dinner tonight anyways. Plus, I want to brag about this killer mud pie I made.
RECIPE FOR FANTASTIC MUD PIE:
1 1/2 cups Oreo cookie crumbs
1/4 cup (or one stick) melted butter
2 pints melted coffee-flavored ice cream
1/4 cup chocolate syrup
5 whole Oreo cookies or 1 bag chocolate-covered espresso beans
1 nine-inch pie plate
In a mixing bowl, combine cookie crumbs and butter and stir until you can't tell the two things apart anymore. Press mixture onto bottom and sides of UNGREASED pie plate. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Spoon or pour one pint of ice cream into this crust. Drizzle this with half the chocolate syrup and make pretty patterns by swirling it with a knife. Repeat this process with the rest of the ice cream and chocolate syrup. Decorate the edges with Oreo cookies or espresso beans (I myself prefer the beans, but you might not). Freeze until firm. Let out 10-15 minutes before serving. Serves 8.

Okay, here's my tuna-vinaigrette pasta: much better with fresh pasta - preferably fettucine or tagliatelle.
Vinaigrette:
Balsamic vinegar to taste (usually I have about a cm in a cup)
Olive oil - same quantity
pinch each of oregano and basil
Tsp honey
tsp mustard
salt and pepper
Shake it if using a jar (not a bad idea if you have a lid) or whisk it.
Get a can of tuna, mix it with the juice of one lemon and season. Mix this with the vinaigrette and add it to the pasta when it's cooked.
Simple, cheap and tastier than it sounds.
Now for real.. this is my spicy pasta recipe:
Cook pasta in pot of water so it's aldente.
Drain.
Pour olive oil in pan.
Cut up fresh garlic and put in pan.
Cook garlic in the olive oil on medium/high.
After some time add pasta.
Add sun-dried tomatoes.
Add habenero peppers.
Add crush red pepper.
Add any other spicy peppers desired.
Stir.
Grate fresh parmesean (sp?)cheese on top.
Garnish with parsley/any other greens.
(I had a better written out recipe for a school project but this is my quick 2- minute -typing out one.
For measurements, just use the amount desired.
I LOVE BAKING! My friends and I love to make fancy desserts. Last week, we made a chocolate souffle that had 8 ounces of chocolate in it... and yesterday we made a chocolate cake (my grandma's recipe) with pink buttercream icing. Mmm... *drools*

I have them anyway...even raw sometimes. I love to lop the top off, scoop the contents out, then put some bacon, cheese 'n' other stuff in there..then throw that out and make mashed potatoes instead.

I love potatoes. Mashed, scalloped, baked, irradiated, anything!
Well, I have actually discovered on my OWN (very proud of myself.. I'm not going to lie) a HEALTHY recipe for homemade potato chips. Potatoes are naturally fat-free and the olive oil contains fats that are good for you. Here it is:
Use a potato peeler to THINLY slice potatoes. (I found it useful to stick a knife through the middle of the potato and then hold the end of the knife and peel).
Put slices of patato into bowl of olive oil.
Put flavoring desired into bowl of olive oil. (for example, I like spicy so I would put stuff like crushed red pepper, powdered cayen pepper, hot salt, etc.)
Have oven ready on as high as it goes.
Place pieces of patato on rack and cook (don't forget to salt).
Keep eye on them and flip them as they brown.
It usually takes me 2 hours to make these. It is a tedious task, and I usually end up burning myself. But it is worth it.
Note: I have tried making salt and vinegar. It is very tricky but it came out OK.

I started sweating just reading that. It sounds like something my dad would eat, though :)
Me = very low tolerance for spicy food.
Well.. my mum has a low tolerence for spicy food. But my dad can eat almost anything. He brought me up to love spicy stuff. And I'm glad too, I have learned to like so many new things.
