I don't have any "cool" classes yet, cause I'm still in middle school and I have to take what everyone else is taking. When I get to high school I want to switch to French (instead of Spanish), and I'm going to take art as an elective. |
LiveAidQueen 02.10.2004 10:32 |
Oooooo, Good Luck Amanda! Yeah, I guess High School you have a better choice of classes, but they sure do get harder... |

I'm still a kiddie in highschool but I take Latin, Algebra, Intergrated Science, English, Writing Lab, and Religion. Typical classes except for Religion since it's a private Catholic school...but I really DON'T like my Religion teacher! She gives us homework and forgets she assigned it after we do it and then she doesn't collect it. So I hope that I don't get incompletes on the things that SHE doesn't collect! |
CatGurl14 02.10.2004 11:17 |

In Sixth Form I'm taking: History English Literature Music German General Studies All A Levels. History is proving very difficult, but apart from that it's quite good. Surprisingly. |
LiveAidQueen 03.10.2004 16:36 |
What kind of music class is it? |
VmS 03.10.2004 16:54 |
We have to study Popular Music, 2 part counterpoint, we have Performance exams (I'm a singer and I play flute and guitar) and composition tasks. We have to write a bassline for a Popular song (I listen to Queen songs to get inspiration, and it seems to work, the teachers like it anyway!) and we have to write an actual song that can be from any category including Romantic Period (1800's I think), Popular Music (Jazz, Rock, Pop, Blues, you name it) Film and TV, Baroque... the list goes on. It's a very wide choice. I'm writing a song based on a Musical Theatre category. It would be from a Children's Musical (which is accepted) as it is about a fish and a monkey... We have an exam, we have to have a basic understanding of Theory (they call it basic, but it's actually incredibly difficult) and we get asked questions on our different Areas of Study. At the moment we're doing Louis Armstrong. We have to analyze music notation, etc etc. Sounds incredibly complex, but I love composing and performing, and I recently did some homework analyzing "Long Away" and got an 'A' grade for it, which cheered me up somewhat. :-) I don't think I've ever posted so much before... I feel quite weary now. :) And hi, by the way. |
dragonzflame 03.10.2004 16:57 |

i'm not in college...yet i'm only 13. but, i plan to stay in orchestra for four years! |
OrAnGe SoDa 27.10.2004 18:10 |
i also have spanish. i have an A- in that class. |
LiveAidQueen 27.10.2004 18:14 |
I had to take Spanish 1, 2, and 3. It was pretty tough, I'm so glad it's over! |
KillerQueen840 27.10.2004 19:18 |
I had Spanish in grades 5-8... Now I take Latin, and I find it much more enjoyable, but I had A+s in Spanish my last few years and I have an A+ in Latin now, I believe. |
OrAnGe SoDa 28.10.2004 09:27 |
hey killerqueen840,um...what is the difference between spanish and latin?(i know it's a stupid question.) |
StrangeQuark 28.10.2004 14:05 |
Fourth year university.... -Principles of gene manipulation (evil) -Techniques in molecular biology and bioinformatics (eviler--it's strictly a lab course, and I happen to be a complete klutz in the lab) -Insect physiology -Terrestrial arthropod diversity (awesome course!) -Independent research project on carnivorous sponges. (full year honours project; a lot of work, but very rewarding. I'll likely have a hand in naming a recently discovered sponge, and get at least one scienfic publication out of it) |

say-o wrote: hey killerqueen840,um...what is the difference between spanish and latin?(i know it's a stupid question.)Well they are completely different languages, but since Latin is the base for most languages, there are some words that are similar between them... like "amo" and quite a few others. |
OrAnGe SoDa 28.10.2004 17:59 |
WOW!!!thank you killerqueen840! i finally know the differences! |
Music Man 28.10.2004 18:57 |
Well, a major difference that seems to have been left out is that Latin was spoken by the ancient Romans...and Spanish is spoken in all modern Hispanic countries. Latin is a dead language. |
KillerQueen840 29.10.2004 14:16 |
Oh yes, you just had to bring up the fact that it's a dead language... :-P |
MetzgerR 29.10.2004 16:22 |
StrangeQuark, I do not envy you your courseload at all! Goodness, I'm glad I'm sticking with an 'easier' major... I'm taking (this semester) Discrete Mathematics I, Elementary Spanish II, American History Pre-Civil War, General Psychology, and Basic Geology. It's a nice simple load for my first semester in college... Next semester, I'm hoping to get at least one ballet course, and I'm also planning on taking a basic/beginning piano class. And finally get into the Calc class I've been waiting for since I got here... Oh well, after seeing what so many others are taking, I've just realized I lost my right to whine about my classes. That's a depressing thought... Ja ne! |
