I was watching Crazy Little Thing from the Wembley DVD last night.
I know Freddie could play, some say just a handful of chords, Brian sometimes says he was quite proficient, but ...
in this performance is he really playing? At the start of the song he seems to be, but later on, especially with more improv coming from Brian and Spike, he seems to just think "oh, sod it" and prentends now and agin but with nothing being heard.
Was he turned off, mixed out of the final audio, or just pretending?
The guitar is still there the whole time. Try hearing to individual stereo channels to try to properly find it. But yeah it kind of gets more in the background as piano & Red Special enter, but it is still there
I know what you're talking about, my neighbor has a Telecaster and it sounds delicious. I have an Ironbird instead, I don't like trends so much. Though my brother and I always loved the sound of a Tele, but I guess it will come later, there are more priorities.
Yes Seb, sadly you're right... Priorities... *SIGH*
I've never owned a Tele... I've been drooling on it since I was a teen but, for some reasons, never got one... I'd rather think it would be wasted in my hands :-)
They say some loves last longer if they never get satisfied...

i'd rather have a tele. thinking about getting a strat makes me think about Jimi Hendrix and acquiring inferiority complex.
