.....and has instead become obsessed with Orbs! What on earth is going on with all this orb talk? |
iGSM 30.09.2004 03:00 |
Orbs'll be added into the musical, I'll bet. |

Richard Gray is already designing new ORB-enhanced covers for all of the studio albums. A Japanese firm has been commisioned to print them, since they can do it at super high quality. So they will only be released there of course. They will be special digipack releases and contain brand-new 2004 remasters! (No bonus tracks of course) |

Phew! I almost thought Brian died!! |
Adam Baboolal 30.09.2004 10:32 |
Orbs are great. :) For those in the UK who watch Most Haunted, you'll know how much they feature these little "light anomolies." Interesting stuff. I'm amazed Brian's started talking about them and in a non-scientific way, too. Peace, Adam. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 30.09.2004 12:51 |
I HOPE Brian is joking, not just mad, out of the blue. :) Cheers, Ogre- |
Lord Blackadder 30.09.2004 13:12 |
So Brian talks about the musical. He likes it, the same as if he just released an album that would be what he talked about. He is proud of the musical. If you don't want to hear him talk about the musical, don't go on his site. This orb thing is abit mad though; read the site to see what it's about. |
deleted user 30.09.2004 13:22 |
He is totally weird... I hope it's a joke, it's unbelievable to me how my former hero became, lately... it's a sort of nightmare that I decided not to live, as I stopper browsing his wwry promotion site...err, I mean, his soap box. I'm concentrating on Queen 1970-1991, I suggest that to everyone who feel depressed, sad, angry, disappointed by the recent "performances" of the men who used to play in a rock and roll band called QUEEN. cheers |

Man, I'm getting sick of hearing about Orbs... I don't think I'll need to check his site again 'til a few days...maybe the orbness will cool down by then. |
Adam Baboolal 30.09.2004 16:24 |
I'm getting sick of people ridiculing anything Brian brings up on his site. Peace, Adam. |
KillerQueen840 30.09.2004 16:56 |
I love Brian dearly but I'm just saying (I don't normally criticize his site) and I don't mean this at all in an offensive way. |
Penetration_Guru 30.09.2004 17:13 |
Why should Brian be above criticism? If I talk shit, I get told. If you talk shit, you get told. Every other eejit with a PC who posts their views is doing so to see what others think. Try globalinternetgovernment@imapowerhungrydeludedmentalist.com for further examples. |

What are orbs? :( |
love of my life 14018 30.09.2004 17:59 |
Orbs are little round bits of light or something that you can see floating around in pictures. Dust particles or something extraterrestrial, that's what Brian's trying to figure out. He has become rather obsessive about it, but it's just fun. |
Adam Baboolal 30.09.2004 19:04 |
Orbs are light anomolies that occur in pictures or video taken digitally. Some consider them to be dust particles caught in the flash, while others consider them something paranormal. After finding out about these things 3 years ago, I'm a little more pursuaded to the latter. Though, only because of a programme in the UK called Most Haunted. Their investigations sometimes come up with these little orbs on video. I often think they're just bits of dust or otherwise. But there have been some captured on video that look like shapes moving around. I don't dismiss them. But then, I don't always feel they lend much weight. But in the end, they're still a very interesting phenomena to behold. I think the best place to see these anomolies is with the "Best of" dvd of this programme. I don't know what's on it, but I'll bet these are orbs are shown and explained. Peace, Adam. |
KevMull 30.09.2004 19:19 |
"But there have been some captured on video that look like shapes moving around" That's the auto focus lens rotating. You were right second time, they are nothing more than dust particles caught by the flash. The reason they've 'appeared' in recent years is beacuse these newer compact cameras (mainly digital) have their flashes right next to the lens illuminating dust (and even water) particles that are situated close in front of the lens. Heres a link that can explain it better than me... link |
Adam Baboolal 30.09.2004 21:46 |
"That's the auto focus lens rotating." Er... do you know the video I'm referring to? How could you possibly know? Oh and, they don't set the cameras to auto-focus. And if these orbs were so easily explainable to be simply dust, then why are they not disproved already? Peace, Adam. |
iGSM 30.09.2004 23:13 |
Because they do not comply with the worlds stringent usuary laws. That's why and the only reason why. |
GonnaUseMyPrisoners 30.09.2004 23:43 |
Gee, and here I thought they were water spots on the lens. Dust, water spots, or other non-divine intervention, I truly think Brian is humoring the photo submitters in order to avoid offending them. Brian knows that things like photos mean a LOT to his fans, and would never want to burst their balloon!!! Besides that, one must bear in mind Brian's ironic sense of humor when you read things like that! |

Could someone explain me WTF are those ORBs? |
the_bluepowdermonki 01.10.2004 06:05 |
What about two people blindly supporting anything Brian brings up on his site. It's his site he can say what he wants. If you don't like it don't go there. |
Mr. Scully 01.10.2004 07:22 |
"It's his site he can say what he wants" Yes, he can say what he wants and he can also expect to be criticized. That's quite natural. Freedom of speech, you know. |
Adam Baboolal 01.10.2004 10:49 |
Bullwinkle, you've already been warned by others. Don't pick fights. And it's not a case of blindly supporting what Brian says or does. It's about being interested in the same things and/or sharing similar opinions. That's what you have a problem with. You can't fathom that maybe, just maybe, there are people who share similar views to Brian. All I can say is, get over it. Peace, Adam. EDIT: And if you'd read my post, you would've noticed that I said I've been interested in this phenomena for the last 3 years. |
mrjordy 01.10.2004 16:20 |
I've been anxious to see what Brian has to say about WWRY Vegas, having attended the premiere and after-party myself. It was an extremely exciting time, and I am sure he has much to write about. Unfortunately, Brian has been spending quite a bit of time writing about orbs (or, light reflecting dust, if you will). |
Saint Jiub 01.10.2004 22:22 |
There have been strong criticism about my use of youth stereotypes, but I have not been given any warnings or threats. You are probably referring to a paranormal warning that I was unable to channel. |

I'm glad to see that i am not the only one who has been patiently awaiting Mr. May's comments on the Vegas Premeire and Aftershow Gig. I have the sinking feeling Jordy that we may never get to hear them now that his attention is focused elsewhere for the first time in 3 years....on ORBS of all things!! I hope one day to click on BM.Com and see a lovely write up/review by him about it with of course some tantilizingly wonderful photos he took...but i'm afraid we have moved beyond that time now. Dare i say it....i'm dissapointed. |

DEACONS 1ST - I couldn't agree more. Now, granted, there may very well be supernatural phenomenon out there, somewhere, but I don't think it's taking place on Brian May's rolls of film. He seems to be a bit overboard with these orbs. A couple weeks ago, Brian mentioned that he would be writing about his experiences during his say in Vegas, so I'm holding him to it. I really hope to hear his take on the whole situation. Vegas, surely, must have been as exciting for Brian and Roger as it was for all of us there to support them. |
Polar Bear 03.10.2004 01:58 |
As is my want I am going to jump in at the end of the thread. I don't see why Brian should be mocked for being fascinated by something most people find trivial. He's a science geek and quite frankly a lot of us here are geeks too! I don't blindly support or follow Brian, but most of things he says are ok. If you want to blindly follow him, then by all means go for it, I'm not going to burst your bubble, but in saying that people are going to disagree with some of your and his views, but that's life isn't it?! |

I wish we didn't have to argue about such silly stuff. Adam, you're too sensitive about anyone taking a jab at Brian. He's a public figure and of course deep down we love the guy (I assume most do) but he's gone a bit overboard with this stuff and we're just having a laugh at his obsession.. the same way one friend might jokingly ridicule another for something he or she is obsessed with. It's his site and he can talk about whatever he wants.. but when he goes on and on about something such as this people have every right to joke about it, and perhaps even be a bit disappointed to learn that he's spending so much time (doing experiments!!??) on this when instead he might for example, spend a couple hours with Greg sorting some unreleased stuff out :) The guy is standing around in the dark shooting talc into the air and taking pictures of it... if you don't find that somewhat silly then you're not hooked up right :) |
Adam Baboolal 03.10.2004 08:23 |
Yeah, he is going overboard. So many pics all over the place now and yet, not much to show. He needs to get a video camera in! Hint-Hint :) Thanks for understanding, you two. I think I am a little sensitive about certain criticisms. Peace, Adam. |
Little_Queenie 03.10.2004 09:39 |
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE???? Brian is just a man, at the moment he's really into these orbs, so he writes about it. Not long ago he was into WWRY, so he wrote about the bloody musical. He did the same thing any normal, curious person who's really excited about something (in this case orbs) would do. It's his fuckin site and he can write anything he wants. If you don't like it, fine. You have every right on your own opinion. But who gives a damn???? I bet Brian doesn't. |
