If there had been a compilation of Freddie-written songs from Queen's first 3 lps it would've made a hell of an album !
Side One:
seven seas (instrumental), ogre battle, fairy feller, nevermore, march of the black queen, funny how love is, seven seas of rhye
Side Two:
In the lap of the gods, liar, lily of the valley, killer queen, great king rat, fairy king, flick of the wrist, lap of the gods...revisted
freddie's writing ant it's most pomp and glam....nothing better

It is not how bands think. What about Deaky's writing? It won't even fill 1 album! And he never sang on any of it!
Oh, I think Deaky had enough for a whole album. I made a CD of just his tracks and it wasn't unusually short. Of course I used a couple extended mixes and included his cowrites with Freddie :)
01 - Another One Bites The Dust (3:34)
02 - Back Chat (single mix) (4:09)
03 - Friends Will Be Friends Will Be Friends (edit) (5:44)
04 - You're My Best Friend (2:50)
05 - Spread Your Wings (4:34)
06 - You Don't Fool Me (5:23)
07 - Don't Try So Hard (3:38)
08 - In Only Seven Days (2:29)
09 - Who Needs You (3:05)
10 - Misfire (1:49)
11 - Pain Is So Close To Pleasure (4:19)
12 - I Want To Break Free (extended mix/custom ending) (6:13)
13 - My Baby Does Me (3:21)
14 - Need Your Loving Tonight (2:48)
15 - If You Can't Beat Them (4:15)
16 - You And I (3:25)
17 - One Year Of Love (4:24)
66:11
Even if you take out 3 tracks which are debatable (credited to "Queen") it's still 14 tracks.
i was trying to keep within a certain theme...album i compiled would fit well together...don't feelt aht stone cold crazy (the first all-queen writing credit) would fit in.
and as for the Deaky stuff...try and keep to the thread - it was about Freddie's writing and the first three albums.....or didn't i post enough clues?

brenski replies.....and it's still a shit album....f-f-s! if that's the best songwriting Deaky has to offer four twenty-odd years in the biggest band on the planet, then it's no wonder he retired
i bet if we did the same thing with Roger/Brian only compositions we'd get much stronger albums -not as good as Freddie's, mind!!!
I especially love the extended mix. I wouldn't be surprised if John mixed it himself. So brilliant, taking those background synths and making that lush intro out of them :)
Speaking of extended mixes, the 'One Year Of Love' extended mix is great. Really makes the song so much better - and it was already great! Because John wrote it.
Oh, I know! It can't be a coincidence that 'Another One Bites The Dust' was a Number One single...IN AMERICA, NO LESS! And 'I Want To Break Free' made Number 3 in the UK and was a huge hit elsewhere!
What talent he has.
Are you alright Lester? You seem to be too..jovial and happy, overflowing with enthusiasm. I'm worried ;)
Did Deaky not write My Life has been Saved? OR WAS THAT ME?

Don't worry, dear friend, I've returned to my normally miserable and crotchety self. False alarm!
And I thought you told me that you wrote My Life Has Been Saved after a chance encounter with me. You know, cause I saved your life and all.
