Joey has the voice, we all can hear it from old EUROPE songs like the final countdown.. or heavier "rock the night" songs.. Joey is also good looking altough aging.. but he's got what it requires.. |

hey joey tempest is good but again he is not as near as good as freddie. Freddie has more range and more power. And he's got a much beautifuler voice than joey. |
Whisperer 23.09.2004 13:58 |
He would be a thousand times better than that discusting Boy George or discusting Elton John. At least he looks good and has a strong rock voice. |

When are you all going to give up on the Freddie replacement questions? It is established that there is ONLY ONE Freddie Mercury and no one is near good enough to replace him whether hypathetically speaking or not! |
BrianRules 23.09.2004 15:15 |
I think we all agree that no one can replace Freddie as far as his range and style, but I think a lot of people are so hungry for more Queen concerts, that they'd be willing to accept a lesser talented singer to replace Freddie, just to hear whatever magic may still be there. I don't know if I'd want that, but I'd probably still go to check it out. |

its easy to replace the voice but not the man that Freddie was on stage |
MayFan 23.09.2004 16:48 |
I could handle Brian and Roger maybe forming a new "band" and creating new music. I mean, they did write alot of Queen songs so it's not like they can't write good material. I think if they did that, maybe another singer would be more accepted than trying to replace Freddie in Queen. |

I don’t think it would be good to continue playing with Queen name and with different lead singer. I’d be highly satisfied to see Brian or Roger (or both) with their bands. I saw Brian on Another World 1998 tour and I was very happy with it. This could be the right way for Brian and Roger IMO. |

what's the bullshit with replacements? Queen's not Black Sabbath, or Van Halen, or AC/DC. try not to wet yourselves when dreaming of replacements for freddie. |

even if the singer was really good...i think the fact that a lot of people have a problem with Freddie being replaced was that, Freddie is replaced. i was talking to my brother and my friends about this topic cuz they brought it up...and they said..im sure they didnt forget about Freddie, but it seems as if they did if he was replaced. |

I'm kind of on the fence here. We've seen from the tribute concert that good voices can do justice to the stuff Freddie sang, but the trick is you'd probably need more than one guest singer to cover the kind of range he had. Axel Rose did fine with the metal part of Bohemian Rhapsody, for instance, but can you picture the guy singing Who Wants to Live Forever or Radio Ga Ga? Oh, and before I forget... > the only one who could possibly front the band > would be Britney Spears!! yes thats it.... > she could wear her Pepsi commerical outfit----and > do a Toxic/WWRY meledy..... Yeah, c'mon nobody can replace Freddie, that's obvious. If you really are a Queenfan than you should have known that. Queen are: Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, nothing more, nothing less. And I think John was right about not co-operating with Robbie Williams (We Will Rock You (in this song Robbie makes a fool of John, screw you Robbie!!) and We Are The Champions), just as John said: Nobody can replace Freddie! Even if you are that good as Freddie was! |
onevsion 25.09.2004 16:23 |
please stop this kind of topics... NO ONE COULD EVER REPLACE FREDDIE! You damn fool! |
mrjordy 25.09.2004 18:36 |
No replacement. Freddie can't be replaced, period. I think a guest singer here and there could be appropriate, but only if they have proven themselves worthy of fronting Queen. Justin, from the Darkness, is quite good and quite a showman and could very well do a great job. He couldn't, however, replace Freddie or anything Freddie ever offered to Queen. Ideally, I would like to see a tour of Brian, Roger and John (or, if they can't twist John's arm, just Brian and Roger with a guest bassist). Brian and Roger could certainly handle the vocals, even if lyrics had to be toned down an octave or two. Brian has a wonderful voice and is fully capable of performing any given song in the Queen catalogue. |

Whisperer wrote:Are you judging Elton John's voice by what he did to TSMGO and BoRhap? It's totally unfair, cos those two songs weren't writen for Elton's voice, but for Freddie's and none of the artists at the FM Tribute Concert weren't able to sing the way Freddie did. If you wanna talk about Elton's voice, then let's talk about HIS songs, not Queen's. And I'm sorry, Elton has a very good voice and you'd have known it if you had listened to some of his albums, not only to his greatest hits. When you listen to a compilation of his songs, you get the (wrong) impression that he sings mostly ballads. Obviously, his voice is pretty much the same when singing the same kind of songs. But if you listen to his albums, you'll find that he's able even to handle the rockers very well and his voice is very fit to the songs he's written.<font color="red">Brianmay1975 wrote:Well, I just don't like those guys. If it's not homophobic, then it's unpolite, cos, as you see, there are people in here who actually like him and it's kinda insulting to them... |
