I've been watching the Freddie's Millions documentary and see clips of a music video from a song I don't recognize. It starts about 3 minutes into the documentary, right before Freddie's birth and childhood is discussed. Freddie is wearing some sort of black jacket that looks like a military uniform and everyone has black and white on. From Freddie's appearance, I can tell this is from the mid 80's (pretty sure, at least). Is this a solo performance? What is the name of the song? It sounds interesting.
Hehe! That's "Living On My Own" with the original Mr. Bad Guy audio. It's available on Freddie's Video Collection DVD. If you can't afford the big Freddie solo box, there's a 3 disc version with 'Mr. Bad Guy', or this DVD is available on its own too. I got it for $14.99 at Borders.
Edit: We were posting at the same time Rien, didn't see yours but you are correct :) I had to check my disc.
Wonderful! Yes, it is Living on My Own. I've seen the Body Language vid...quite strange...anyway, thank you. I was looking at the 3 Disc set and it's only about $20 where I am. A lot of Mr. Bad Guy seems very disco-ish (reminds me of Hot Space). I'll be sure to keep it in mind.
I've resisted getting the 3 disc version because I want the big box, and finally I've decided to get it in a couple weeks. I'll be broke for all of October, but I'll survive :)
It's still nice to have the 3 disc set though, As there are things on the bonus CD that do not appear on the big box. Like the 2000 mixes of "Time" and "In My Defence", Which are FAR superior to the album versions in my opinion! :D
Wouldn't hurt to have both then :) I never can find the 3 disc (actually two discs + bonus disc to be exact) locally or I probably would have bought it. Just didn't seem worth ordering online when I wanted to get the big one eventually.
Ramses, the big box originates in the UK, but they have versions suited for all countries, such as NTSC DVDs for North America. Here's the Official Queen shop listing.. it's also on Amazon, and frequently on Ebay.: link
It's 10 CDs with almost all of his solo work including alternate versions and interview discs, and 2 DVDs. One with his original solo videos and one with a feature-length documentary about his life (an edited version has been shown on TV). Oh, and a large book which the discs are housed in.
With shipping, to the U.S. I think it comes to roughly $250. You can get it slightly cheaper at Amazon, particularly if you get the PAL version.. that's what I'm going to do because I have a PAL-converting DVD player. Otherwise you'll need the NTSC version for U.S. & Canada.
