If you could go back in time which era of the past would you choose to live in? I would like to be 18 in around 1967 and grow up with all those great bands like the Stones, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, The Doors, the the hippy era, when things were a bit more layed back, then the decadence of the 70's, the disco era....unfortunently I was born in 79. |

Cool topic :) Probably about the same time for me. I would have loved to have been at least a teenager by 1970. I'm fascinated by the 70s and unfortunately I was born in '71 so I don't remember much :) I often think how cool it would be to live in some other time but having the knowledge I have now. Maybe try to make the (then) future a little better.. not mess things up too much though :) |
MayFan 20.09.2004 21:55 |
I would have loved to have been born about 1950! To be able to experience Elvis and the Beatles and the whole british invasion, blues artists in their prime like Muddy Waters and BB King, to sleep in the middle of Woodstock, or maybe even be lucky enough to get into a band that played Woodstock!!! Man, don't get me started..... |
Goo 20.09.2004 22:25 |
Good question! I think I'd like to have been born in 1956. That's the year my Mom was born, and she had so many chances to see tons of great acts and never did! That's something I will always regret for her. Then again, having been born later isn't really so bad. At least all the good music's lived on, even if the bands themselves haven't. :( |
SergeantPepperDG 20.09.2004 22:28 |
I wish I had been born between 1955 and 1960. 1990 sucks. |
Gunpowder Gelatine 20.09.2004 22:42 |
I wish I'd been a teenager in the 70's. It would've been amazing to actually have experienced all the music that I love today, instead of only having CDs and DVDs to remember them by. |

The Real Wizard 21.09.2004 00:22 |
I wish I had been a teenager in the early 70s, so I could have seen bands like Led Zeppelin, Genesis, Yes, and Deep Purple at their peak. |

Can you people STOP saying you wish you had been teenagers in the 70's - because I WAS!!! Makes me feel old :-S I'd like to go back to Ancient Egypt, the Roman Empire or Dark Ages Britain. |

I'd like to go back to a year and a half ago. |

Roman era. Preferably being one of the Roman warriors, having orgies and all. And have some slaves do the work for you. If not, then I prefer to have been born just after WW2. Economy was booming like hell, and most of these guys born then are now quite rich. Besids, I'd be in my 20's at the appearance of rock music. Oh, and I would have been able to have free sex in al these communes etc. |
Sonja 21.09.2004 09:34 |
I'd like to go back to 1962 and be 15 and enjoy the Beatles and everything that came afterwards cos it was just a great time and everything that came out was new and was a sensation and people were still really blown away by what was happening in the music scene...there were still heroes.... and all the legends came from that time... and then Woodstock in '69, and then the great bands in the 70's... Awesome! Today there's nothing new anymore... everything that's being released, any new band...it's all been done before, no sensation, no heroes anymore. It's all become so boring!! |

I'd go back in time to 1926..to kill Drs. Daja before he/she/it can change history. Like if Jozef Pilsudski never became the Polish Prime Minister, Harry Houdini never died, the Western Australian Secession League was never formed, Spain stayed with the League of Nations, Gertrude Ederle is eaten by a shark trying to cross the English channel, Mel Brooks, Fidel Castro and Marilyn Monroe are never born, Robert Lincoln and Rodolfo Valentino never die and finally Sam 'n' Henry never premieres meaning there will never been an Amos 'n' Andy. Yes, I don't think so Drs. Daja. World War 2 did jussssssssssst fine..if you ignore the massive loss of life, emotional difficulties and political turmoil that went after it. I'd go back to 1775 make sure that Paul Revere, Samuel Prescott and William Dawes never made it. HA! Then go to the American Civil War. |

As i was a teenager in the 70s, i would love to go back and do it all again, sex drugs and rock n roll my friends, Queen, ELO, Thin Lizzy, Rainbow etc in concert again. |
Bob The Shrek 21.09.2004 10:38 |
I wish I was born in 1926. So I could brutley murder germans in world war two. Read your history - we have already done that. |
iGSM 21.09.2004 10:48 |
Twice for good luck. And we even killed some Dutch/Boers to show them who is boss. Gentlemen, for Queen and Country! Plus being born in 1926 only allows you for 2 years of fighting. And it's not even really fun. Sure you get to go to D-Day but that's only one big mother fucker instead of several small mother fuckers. |
Taylor-Mayed 21.09.2004 10:52 |
I rather enjoy living in the here and now, to be honest... Although if I was allowed to take a compatible video recorder with me, I wouldn't mind popping back to the 1950s and 60s every so often to preserve some television history. |
KillerQueen840 21.09.2004 14:40 |
I think it'll be cool going back to the mid 60's and be a teen during the time of Queen. |

Except when I get old, I'm gonna be thinking how much the time I grew up in sucked. You should consider yourself lucky! Unless for some reason you think the 60s/70s sucked. Hey, iGSM- I finally figured out what your username means! Sorry, I'm a little slow. |
Bob The Shrek 21.09.2004 16:22 |
The 60's were okay - we hadn't joined the EU at that time. |
Introducing_Christina Lauren 21.09.2004 16:48 |
i would like to be 18 in 1975, catch all the cool shows of queen in there hay day! :) |

Interesting how lots of you are going back in a different time just so you can have sex. What a waste. |
Daburcor? 22.09.2004 17:11 |
Indeed... I don't think I'd want to go back in time... Not sure why... |
LiveAidQueen 22.09.2004 19:01 |
About 1974 to 1985...I have too many reasons why... |

definitely the 70s. definitely. |
iGSM 22.09.2004 23:36 |
1926. Quite possibly the most boring year in the last century. Except for 1947. Actually June 20, 1947 was particularly interesting. I daresay 1781 would be fun for me too. Bash up Pitt the Younger. |
