Hey!! I thought I'd tell you I saw Van Halen last Sunday with Sammy Hagar. Eddie played an awesome solo and I couldn't hear for 2 days. What do you guys think of them? :-D
Living in England, I havnt heard that much Van Halne. I mean I've obviously heard of them, and songs like Jump and Eruption which are quite good, but I couldnt give an honest opinion after only hearing about 4 songs.

I like the David Lee Roth version of Van Halen myslef.
I look at Van Halen as 2 different bands.
1) Van Halen 1978-1984
2) Van Hagar 1986-Present
VH1 was great! Lot's of energy, rawness, and great guitar of course. I can prety much listen to any of those albums straight through.
VH2 is a different story. I think Sammy adds a more polished pop sound to them and I like it very much. They have some incredible songs. But, with the exception of 5150 (an even that's debatable), IMO I don't think they put together a good CD. The songs I like, I love..but then they always seem to have skippers (songs I skip over).
I still think it would be great to see them live, tho. I'll bet it was fantastic!
Van Halen is one of my favorite bands. I have their first album and 1984, both are great! I was going to see them but I didn't have the money, their tickets were so expensive!
I wanted to see them on this tour but the closest they were playing was NJ, and I didn't feel like driving all the way there. I'm not a hardcore fan but I really like Van Halen. I'm still hoping that they add some dates to their tour in NY.
Van Halen has a new compilation called 'The Best Of Both Worlds', and unlike their previous Greatest Hits, this one has them all. The last one missed 'Hot For Teacher', 'I'll Wait', 'You Really Got Me' and whole bunch more, and that really pissed off some people inclding me.
Yeah, I live here right in Biloxi now and they came right to the Coliseum. It was an awesome show. And I believe they played in Albany. They're going to be playing in Florida tonight...Enjoy that one boys!
