How did Queen (or any singer, for that matter) amplify the piano while on stage? I know guitars can be amplified relatively easily with electronic amplifyers plugged into the instrument. Drums can have microphones placed near them. But what about a piano? Was the mic IN the piano where the strings were plucked? I've seen Freddie adjust some electronic device before playing it(good shot is Wembly '86 DVD right as he goes to play Bo Rhap). Does that control the volume? Thanks for the help.
When a piano is amplified there are usually 2 microphones used at the end of the strings (one for the low and one for the high keys) And a nice stereo mix is made. So the mics are inside the piano
in the later years they used some kind of system inside the piano, which sensed the vibration of the strings, so they didn't have to work with microphones
