How many of you people take or took latin? I used to take spanish but every year we would get a new teacher so we would restart... so I figured since I didn't learn much that I'll re-start and take latin (now that I'm at a different school)... Getting to the point... how's latin? Hopefully not as bad as all of those other people make you think....
I only took Latin for one year - after that, I switched to Spanish and French - but it was a lot of fun, and definitely helps if you continue on to romance languages, as they're latin-based. I don't know what you've been told, but I really liked it, actually.
Well when I told my grandmother that I was taking latin she was practically begging me to switch to spanish...how she hated latin..and all it is, is writing (which I don't mind... I love to write) and that so many people now speak spanish (which I know) and it'll look good on your records and everything. But then my cousin said that it's easy but she's wicked smart so I didn't know if I could trust her on that. But I'm glad that you guys like it, hopefully I will too..not bad so far.
One of my friends takes Latin. I'm taking French, even though the only thing I can remember from last year is pamplemousse and how to conjugate a few verbs. ;-)
I used to get this on occasion from certain damned tutors when they addressed me:-
Omne in proecipiti vitium stetit.
(Every kind of vice has reached its summit).
also:-
Flashmanum gaudetque viam fecisse ruina.
(Flashy rejoices by having made his way through ruin).
Didn't think much of old Flash, did they?
