Will there be a DVD release of Greatest Hits 3 Will they released and when Please tell it me |
Oberon 06.09.2004 05:45 |
Brian's website is probably your best bet on an answer. I think there will be, but the question is when? The earliest would probably be a Xmas 2005 release. Can't see it happening before then. |
Pim Derks 06.09.2004 05:46 |
Yes. Next year probably. |

According to Brian - its been put on hold for a while. I'm sure we'll see it by this time next year. |
SergeantPepperDG 06.09.2004 19:22 |
Dammit. I was looking forward to possibly getting it for Hanukah. |
Music Man 06.09.2004 19:28 |
I guess you'll just have to wait until your 15th birthday. ;) |
SergeantPepperDG 06.09.2004 19:32 |
Probably a few months more than that, since it's most likely coming out during the holiday season. |
Music Man 06.09.2004 19:35 |
I guess you'll just have to wait until your 16th Hanukah. ;) |
SergeantPepperDG 06.09.2004 19:36 |
15th Hanukah- cause it's just a few months after my 15th birthday. |
Music Man 06.09.2004 19:42 |

Wait a year and it should appear... |

I really hope it doesn't feature any "Queen +" material...but I suppose it will. Innuendo/MIH doro videos, No-One But You....after that, what else can they put in? |
BackToHuman 08.09.2004 01:14 |
(Forgetting about what recent releases have said) Do you consider the Tribute concert to be Queen, or Queen+ ? *shrugs* To my mind, the Tribute counts as Queen, as does NOBY (and not just because it'd be ridiculous to have a credit reading "Queen+ ...), and the '97 performance of TSMGO with Elton John....basically, anything John also participates in, I consider to be genuine Queen, and with Queen+, i actually view that little "+" as a footnote. all i know for sure is, if VH3 turns into a Queen+ thing, and they also wind up tossing on some of Brian and Freddie's solo videos, they dang well better toss on some of Roger's, too. But, maybe with two albums (and a couple of additional songs) only to cover, they'll fill out the rest of the disc with plenty of documentaries and tributes and interviews and stuff. *shrugs* who knows? Maybe Brian has said that it's being delayed because he's secretly planning to break away from the theater world as soon as Anita's not looking, and get back in a recording studio with Roger, and lay down some new tracks (not new versions of old tracks) for a new album (not a couple of songs for a compilation, but a whole new album, by Queen, or Queen+ if they can't drag John out of retirement for even just some studio work). or maybe i'm rambling. i'd edit this post, but i'm not sure where i started to stray off topic. |

We've had some estimations of track lists and possible bonus material before which I largely ignored. But I'm sure it will include the Innuendo videos, everything from Greatest Flix III except the solo stuff and those already used in the first two volumes. But who knows? Also I'm hoping they'll ignore the usual Novemberish release date and maybe go for mid-year. I'm beginning to see how the Queen machine works in terms of releases... there's always something coming, and not a full year apart. |

If they are going to include the solo stuff, I hope that they include all of it, not just selected videos. Or release a 4th DVD with all the solo work on, including The Cross. I wouldn't want to have the Made In Haeven 'Films' on as they were a seperate thing and have been released anyway. The collaborations that they would probably include would be WWRY with Five and AOBTD with Wyclif Jean. These were proper singles and WWRY did go to No. 1 in the UK. Also the BoRhap Waynes World video. And was there ever a video for Thank God It's Christmas? The only FM Tribute video that could be included is Somebody To Love. |

technically, they could also include WATC with Robbie Williams, as i recall it having been released as a single, except both Brian and Roger were suspiciously absent from the video..... does anyone know what constitutes the track listing for these Video Hits DVDs anyway? it appears to me, judging from the pattern which has emerged on the previous two releases, that disc 1 is singles that were hits, and disc 2 is singles that really weren't that big. except, it's not all-inclusive..... *Seven Seas of Rhye *Teo Torriatte *Long Away *It's Late *Jealousy *Mustapha *Need Your Loving -- were all singles, and are not at all represented on GVH1, while GVH2 lacks... *Pain Is So Close To Pleasure they're obviously not basing it on a UK GH tracklisting or chart history...are they judging it on songs which charted in two or more countries? that would explain why Teo Torriatte had been taken out of the running, as well as Long Away. *shrugs* any ideas? i'm just grasping at straws here. |

"as i recall it having been released as a single" No it wasn't. There are some promo-copies out there and it was planned to be released as a single in the summer of 2001 or 2002 (can't remember) but that got cancelled. The reason they didn't include stuff like Pain Is So Close, Seven Seas etc is because there is no video-material of those tracks. There is some TOTP footage of SSOR, but Queen Productions didn't own that in 2002, when GVH1 was released. Dunno if they bought it since then. |

I don't think they'll include the FM Solo videos since they've already released. Here's my list for GVH3: 1. TSMGO w/ Elton John 2. UP Rah Mix 3. Flash Remix 4. Heaven for Everyone 5. Living On My Own Remix 7. Innuendo 8. TSMGO 9. Headlong 10.TATDOOL 11.Somebody To Love w/ George Michael 12.WATC w/ Robbie Williams 13.NOBY 14.Seven seas of Rhye (TOTP) 15.You Don't Fool Me 16.AOBTD w/ Wyclef Jean Maybe they'll include Thank God, Driven By You, Let Me Live and TMLWKY but I don't know if a proper video excist. |

DoRo has done some good stuff....unfortunately, 85% of what they've had their hands in has turned out to be crap..... I quite enjoy the 'Rah Mix' video (much better than i do the actual song), as well as most of the original videos they've shot (the only notable exception being "Scandal"....)....it's the cut-and-paste they seem to enjoy so much that i hate, mostly because they pull clips out of other videos. if they'd use rehersal/studio or concert footage from the proper era, it would actually probably work much better, but everytime i watch a DoRo video, i'm worried I'll see BoRhap footage mixed in with Invisible Man footage, or something ridiculous like that. |
