I bought my first Queen item on June 18, 2004. So I guess that's about 2 (and a half) months also. |
SergeantPepperDG 03.09.2004 16:41 |
I bought the Greatest Hits Collection. I figured I should start out with a variety of songs from throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s, to see exactly what I thought of them, to make sure I didn't just like a few songs. |
MexQueenFM 03.09.2004 16:43 |
i've known them for over 10 yrs now, but i've been a hardcore fan for 3 yrs now, i think my anniversary is coming up soon i've got all their cd's , and although i'm liking other bands atm , i will never forget Queen, my tattoo speaks for me |
Little_Queenie 03.09.2004 17:05 |
Known Queen for about 15 years cause my uncle likes them also so they've been around for almost all my life, loved them ever since, and I love them more and more every day.. So don't worry, who hookes up on Queen doesn't go away so easy:)) They'll take you all your time and money (for cd-s) but honey you'll survive;)) |
Pim Derks 03.09.2004 17:16 |
Known Queen since 1992, became a fan after the FM Tribute on TV. First item was The Game on CD, got it from a friend who's dad worked at EMI. Actively collecting since 1995, but I've almost stopped collecting... Much more interested in other bands now then I was before. |

Mine was A Night at the Opera (I was 14 years old ) in 1990, thanks to the advice of an uncle that love Queen... I still remember when I start to translate the "Death on Two Legs" song to understand it... Greetings from Portugal |

Hola! Since 1997... Queen Rocks! and two or three months later Made in Heaven. Then, a very friend of mine, who loves heavy metal music, share with me some cd's and cassetes of his uncle... (Hits 2, Innuendo and The Miracle...) mmmmmmmmmmmmm wait a minute I went backwards!! Being a Queen fan give me a lot of satisfaction. I'm happy being a Queen fan... |
Gunpowder Gelatine 03.09.2004 19:51 |
Only about a year. Honestly, I wish I'd been born earlier. It'd be amazing to have actually grown up with Queen; waiting for albums to be released, seeing them on tour, meeting them... |

My brother infected me when he bought the Innuendo album immediately after it's release. The first cd I bought myself was Live at Wembley. The first studio album I bought was The Game. I can hardly imagine that I will ever love any other band as much as I love Queen. |

My first CD ever was Classic Queen, listening to BoRhap many, many times. Then on to Greatest Hits, and Live Killers. Then, from Live Killers I sought out great songs that weren't on Classic and Greatest Hits, and got Queen,Sheer Heart Attack,A Night At The Opera, and Jazz. I'm STILL waiting for my News Of The World CD!!! And I'm also going to get A Day At The Races soon. |
Sunshine__123456 04.09.2004 11:53 |
Since november 1991, when Freddie died, Queen's music did get al lot of attention and I had the age for discovering new music for the first time, just when you come off your childhood. I had Greatest Hits I on a copied cassette, but Queen I was the first album i bought, shortly thereafter Live Killers. I've been a fan all those years,in the beginning you're so amazed you think there isn't anything better than Queen. But when you grow up musically, you learn to listen to other music, and now i appreciate more music than ever, but Aerosmith is my second great love after Queen. They really rock, esspecially "Rocks" and "Toys In The Attic". Sweet Emotion is a gem! Most Queen fans will like Dream On a lot. |
Goo 04.09.2004 12:38 |
I've been a fan for just over a year and a half. My first cds were Classic Queen and Greatest Hits. I fell in love right away! |
Sonia Doris 04.09.2004 14:51 |
I remember when I was a little girl, about 5 or six, a little bit after the 1989 revolution - I'm from Romania - my mother, I think bought me a cassete with Gratest Hits 1. Then, I don't know why, I started listening to other artists until - I think - 1999 when I (re)descovered how much I loved Queen. I have become Queen-aholic since then and it's still growing inside me. |
Queenette=1 04.09.2004 15:17 |
I have been a fan of Queen's since approximetley 1980, so that's about 24 years, and I am proud of it too! Reading so of the others about how long they've been a fan of Queen's makes me feel old! |
Queenrocks4579 04.09.2004 15:25 |
Waynes world came out when i was three and my dad was a queen fan. That was actually one of the tw first songs i ever remember hearing/the other on is big bad will is sweet william now by van halen. Anyways up until i was fourteen i actually made fun of my dad for liking old people music like queen. I rember him trying to play them in the car and i said for god sakes change it. Then my friend and i ashley were talking about good songs in chorus and she started sing bo rhap. Then i went in the step dads cd collection and found classic queen and loved it. Then for my 15th b-day my mom bought me the platinum collection. The first item i bought was a night at the opera naturally. |
MamaQueen 04.09.2004 20:33 |
In 1979 I heard We Are The Champions for the first time, but what really captivated me was Bohemian Rapsody. That was when I said, these guys are good! For many years I stop listening because in USA no one I knew was into Queen and I just forgot about them. Now I'm a hard core fan since 2002. I listen to other singers and bands, but none can compare to Queen. They are the best. |
deleted user 05.09.2004 03:32 |
Well unfortunatley I was born only 5 months before freddie died :( - June 11 so I neva got to see them live or enything :( - but i'm real glad i'm into tyhem so much. I'm a HARDCORE fan seriously and my mum's starting to get sik of me :S. But I'm gonna save up for a Night at the Opera and then "Magic Moments" DVD. I really wanna see some interviews, u no? |
Flo Joe 05.09.2004 07:59 |
The 'Magic Moments' DVD got a real bad review in the magazine of the German Fanclub! According to this review it is an unofficial product and there are no statements from the band itself, but only interviews with other people about Queen. If you want some interview and documentation you should think about buying the 3 'Magic years' Vidos. They are not (yet?) available on DVD. Alternativley you can also buy the 'Champions of the World' Video, what is mainly material which is also featured on the Magic Years Videos and some 'new' material they edited after Freddie's Death. What does the rest of you think...what to do if you want to have some documentation and interviews? |
Roy ® 05.09.2004 13:24 |
Since November 1991, when Freddie died. There was a Queen weekend on MTV. |
lottie88 05.09.2004 18:48 |
I have been a die hard Queen fan for about a year and two months. It all started with Greatest Hits too. Ahhhh, good times. |
sonic killer 05.09.2004 19:05 |
i wonder why there arent any queen weekends or queen specials on mtv or mtv2 or anything like that here....d;fjddfsdgfs anyways ive known about them for a few years, since i was little but i became a huge fan in may 2004... |
MayFan 05.09.2004 21:35 |
I bought (and still have!) We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions on 45 in 1977. I was 10! Then Crazy Little Thing Called Love on 45. I was 12 then. After that, it was album after album. I guess I should have just said a looong time..lol |
syncursor 05.09.2004 22:14 |
I grew up as a fan of sci-fi movies as a kid so the first Queen album I bought was actually the Flash Gordon soundtrack because I loved the film. Then, in 1981 I bought the Greatest Hits album and realized I had missed out on lots of great songs. By the time Hot Space came out I was totally hooked and have been ever since. |
Oberon 06.09.2004 09:56 |
August 1986 when I was 11. Just in time to miss the last gigs they ever did! had a lull in my fanatacism during/after universisty (1993 -97) but am making up for it now!! Enjoyed waiting for the Miracle and Innuendo albums and was lucky enough to go to the tribute and the Freddie anniversary gig at Ocean in hackney in 2001 (I think it was) where Brian and Roger played. Fantastic it was! Don't believe I shall ever tire of this quartet's output! Roll on GH 3 DVD, box sets etc! |

The first Queen I remember hearing was WWRY/WATC on the radio. I don't remember the exact order of purchase, but the first records I bought were News of the World, The Game and the old Greatest Hits record. Here in the US, it listed Keep Youself Alive as being on both Queen and Queen II. I assume in Europe the record had 7 Seas of Rhye instead. I was impressed by Queen's appearances on Saturday Night Live and Live Aid. I never stopped liking them but it was only in more recent years that I became obsessed. I like the first four albums the best, but I think they had great songs all the way through their career. |
