What do you think about Innuendo as an album and as a song too? I love it. It's on my Queen top 3 list. |
Albyboy 01.09.2004 11:11 |
It's a very very interesting album... A lot of hot guitar work and many more sound contamination than in the past... Absolutely my favourite one from the 1982/1991 era!!! It can't reach my best 3 because these positions are all occuped by the stuff from the seventies: 1 - A Day at the Races 2 - Queen II 3 - A night at the Opera/Sheer Heart Attack The song is a masterpiece and it would be worth the price of the album all by itself!!! If you add something like "The Show Must Go On", "Headlong" and "Ride the Wild Wind", not buying it would be a crime!!! :-) Albyboy |
Flo Joe 01.09.2004 12:10 |
The 2nd best album after Queen II! Days of our lifes, Headlong, Ride the Wild Wind, Show must go on and Innuendo belong to my absolute favorite tracks! |
Saint Jiub 01.09.2004 12:18 |
Both overrated. Nothing real special. Queen tried to again spread their 70's wings with moderate results. There is no comparison with SHA, aDatR, the 2nd side of aNatO, or the black side of Q2. |

I love Innuendo, the song and the album. I think it's a perfect Queen album.. has a little of everything. I'm currently listening to an EP I produced.. "Innuendo Instrumental", with 7 tracks from the album in instrumental form from karaoke & 'The Eye' mixes. Great album instrumentally too :) 1. I'm Going Slightly Mad (Greatest Karaoke Hits) 4:22 2. Headlong (The Eye) 4:42 3. I Can't Live With You (The Eye) 4:38 4. Ride The Wild Wind (The Eye) 4:41 5. These Are The Days Of Our Lives (Greatest Karaoke Hits DVD plus restored outro) 4:14 6. The Hitman (the two tracks from The Eye edited together) 3:29 7. The Show Must Go On (Greatest Karaoke Hits plus restored outro) 4:29 (30:39) |

I've been around since December. Not sure how many posts til you get to the next level.. maybe 50 or 100? I can't remember. But concentrating on your post count will generally annoy people around here. I'd recommend just taking it easy and reply only when you have something real to say :) |
deleted user 01.09.2004 14:44 |
ok, soz 2 enyone i've annoyed! I've got something interesting to say about "I want it all", not strictly to do with innuendo but I am LISTENING to innuendo now. I l don't particularly like I want it on but I love the different levels of sound how everything sort of just interrupts with eachother! |
inu-liger 01.09.2004 17:11 |
I was just remastering it on my PC shortly before the power supply died :( And shame too, as the sound was much improved on my version :( |
Adam Baboolal 01.09.2004 17:48 |
What do you mean by, "remastering?" |
The Left Testicle of Freddie 01.09.2004 17:53 |
Innuendo, the song, is my favourite Queen track, closely tailed by Play The Game. I love the album - it's in my top 6 or 7 but it still doesn't reach the creative heights of the early album. With Freddie being sick though, it's an amazing effort. I can't stand the Made In Heaven album though - with the exceptions of It's A Beautiful Day, Mother Love, A Winter's Tale and Track 13 - 'filler' is the word to best describe it. The version of 'Heaven For Everyone' is not a patch on the original Freddie/The Cross version. |

I love Innuendo, both the album and the song. The album is one of my favorites from Queen's later period. It might be a bit overrated, but it is a strong album. |

iGSM 01.09.2004 19:32 |
I like them both. Innuendo reminds me so much of Bohemian Rhapsody though. Innuendo had been done before. Instead of an operatic section there was a Spanish Guitar section with claps. Not implying that Bohemian Rhapsody is a bad song. Yet. |

Azertyuiop wrote: Why instrumental??? YOU DON'T LIKE FREDDIE'S VOICE ? :) SebWell, with Freddie gone and an absence of decent new material, I'm enjoying what I call "Queen -" (Minus rather than plus) LOL |

ha ha, Peas. You know fine well why I was asking Inu about his use of that word. |
Penis - Vagina 01.09.2004 20:24 |
You're too sensitive about terms like that. Sure, it's consumer level stuff, but who cares? If a person has a CD that's kind of old and they think they can improve the sound a bit, so they copy the tracks, enhance them and make a new CD, that's remastering. Considering that there's some bad sounding 'professional' remasters, why is a consumer version any worse? "Innuendo" is actually a fine example. The digital master as it was was copied to consumer discs. So if we have a copy of the original CD, there's probably not much different than a pro using the digital master, adjusting the EQ and calling it remastered.. which in this case (2001) actually made some songs sound much worse, so a consumer might be able to get better results suited to his own tastes. Thus, a personal remaster. :) You probably wouldn't like me calling CD-RWs "test pressings" either eh? :-P |

My 2nd favourite after Queen II. I love the song Innuendo, it's so powerful and deep. I love These Are The Days Of Our Lives... Mind you, I even love Delilah!! I think Innuendo is Queen's most personal album, let alone The Show Must Go On. Always gets me. Innuendo is a great way Queen, and Freddie himself, said goodbye. |
Queenrocks4579 01.09.2004 21:57 |
Pure genius! What more is there too say. |
Adam Baboolal 01.09.2004 23:25 |
I was just wondering what Inu was doing. It's always interesting to hear what people consider home mastering. Peace, Adam. |
Sonia Doris 02.09.2004 05:06 |
My list is: 1. Queen II 2. Made In Heaven (I'm listening to A Winter's Tale now) 3. Innuendo |
Aequanoctis 02.09.2004 16:10 |
The song is incredible...I just like the drastic beat and instrument changes, it reminds me of Bohemian Rhapsody. I love the lyrics too, very sensitive. As most of the lyrics on the albums are. ....well, except for Delilah...*meows* 0_0; |
radio_what's_new 02.09.2004 16:40 |
The album is great. I think innuendo is the best queen album after A night at the opera. The single is even better than bohemian rhapsody |
KillerQueen840 02.09.2004 19:34 |
My favorite song on it is, "The Hitman." |
jasen101 02.09.2004 23:36 |
Queen's best album since "A Night At the Opera". |
Sonia Doris 03.09.2004 01:23 |
I like Headlong. It makes me wanna run. I think Delilah is kinda funny, not stupid. So what they meeeeeeeeow? Cats are cool. ;) The lyrics of Innuendo make me think a bit more of the world we live in... |
daniboy 03.09.2004 02:21 |
One of their best... thats for sure!!!! Especialy Dont try so hard!! very special song.... |
Hitman 03.09.2004 13:02 |
oh innuendo is great....my favourite i think |
Bosdavid 03.09.2004 14:59 |
I really like the album, It's also in my top 3, I think (the following lit: 1: A night at the opera 2: Sheer heart atack 3: Innuendo |
Wouter 04.09.2004 08:37 |
If it wasn't for the title song, I would hardly ever listen to it. It has some nice songs on it, but they don't stand up to the older work, whereas Innuendo (the song) outruns everything they did before. The song also has one of the best intros I've ever heard, building up a lot of tension. Simply love it. |
Sunshine__123456 04.09.2004 12:18 |
Interesting that there are such diverse opinions! I think Innuendo is by far the best Queen albums. I get shivers when I listen Innuendo, The Show Must Go On, These are the days.... and Don't Try So Hard. The songs are so good, the quality and production is just awesome. The voice of Freddie is so breakable, but powerful, you can hear he added his last energy in singing those songs, esspecially The Show Must Go On. What a power. But every Queen album has a certain atmosphere which you can't compare them. I like the artwork as well from "Innuendo" |
Giacco 73 05.09.2004 07:01 |
For me,both Innuendo the album and the tiltletrack are masterpieces. The song remains in the same league of Bohemian Rhapsody and the album is the Best Queen studio effort since the 70's.Freddie sings like never before and the other 3 guys are simply stunning. In this album you find the naked Queen art without any pression of releasing a commercial product, being aware of freddie illness.Simply, relaesed with heart and soul without any other score in mind but giving to the world their last and excellent goodbye.I remember back in 4th February,1991 when it was released put my hands on the first copy of it straight back from the box with the 1991 limited edition calendar.I was the first who got it in my home town! And obviously I was never aware that it would be the last studio album that I could buy with Freddie still alive, but this is another sad and tragic story... |
BackToHuman 06.09.2004 08:01 |
just listened to the Tribute concert version of Innuendo, with Robert Plant singing, and all i can say is...... wow. what the hell was that? it proves what a rock-solid track it is instrumentally, but mostly because i didn't even hear Plant through about half the song...the other half, it sounded like he was just makin' crap up. Actually sounded worse than my brother-in-law singing YTMBA at my wedding (having deciding after rehersal that maybe i was serious about wanting this thing sung at my wedding and maybe he should learn it, despite the fact i gave him the song to listen to, and sheet music, about 5 months prior). but, the album version of 'Innuendo'? amazing. absolutely amazing. the whole album? *shrugs* the ONLY thing that puts me off is 'Delilah'. i dunno; my wife loves it, and i think it's a fun song, but i just feel like it detracts from the overall album. |
INXS 17.09.2004 11:27 |
Innuendo is probally my favorite album and one of my favorite songs. |
