Hello again everyone !
I've just post a topic about the kidnapping of the french journalists in irak and now i'm posting something less sad.
One month ago, I bought "Permission To Land" of The Darkness and I really like this album and this band. I would like to know if you like them and if you think that this band is the best rock band since Queen.

Well, pretty good, surely rockin', damn good voice performance (even if the guy is breaking my balls with all his falsettos... We're in the XXI century, has anybody told him?)... Anyway I don't think they are more than a simply good rock band... Nothing original, everything on the album gives that strong feeling of 'already heard'... I like Muse a lot more than Darkness.
Anyway, if you are looking to something more Queen-related, try listening to Keane... Warm voice and some good piano stuff...

Ouch. The Darkness are one group I simply can not stand. And this is not because I am simply bitter at how they 'ripped off' Queen or whatever.
Justin Hawkins' falsetto causes me nothing but pain, the group are horribly arrogant, and they come off as incredibly annoying regardless of whether you take all they do seriously or not.
And I most certainly agree that Muse are better.
the darkness are pretty good and their style is to be arrogant that's just them, and while its pissed off a lot of other bands in the process, it seems to have gotten them a lot of fame. While JH isnt anywhere near as good as a singer as Freddie he has just as much charisma, i will always prefer Queen over The Darkness but they really are a healthy dose of new music
The Darkness happens to be the most famous Queen tribute band in the world.
The problem is that there even tribute bands who are more original than them.
I adore the Darkness but they have been mostly ignored by the music stations and radio stations here. They are due to put out a new album, and I cannot wait!
Hurry guys!
Of course they're not as good as Queen, if they were we'd all be on TheDarkness.com (or whatever) argueing about whether Queen were as good as they are!
I've seen them several times now, small gigs (pubs in the early days) and the biggest gigs (Knebworth, support to Robbie Williams, 185000 people). They are superb and I hope that they continue where they left off with the next album!
How did their x-mas CD not get to number one? Surely one of the best x-mas singles EVER!
