Does anyone know if the music for the WWRY musical soundtracks is actually recorded by Queen? In other words, are the instrumental recordings the cast karaoke-over Queen instrumentals or Queen songs recorded by another band?
They've got nothing toi do with the real thing- it's much better to go to Dominion Theatre and watch the show... The CD doesn't give any justice to the show...
The Aussie/ New Zealand version has a bonus track with Annie Crummer singing to a reworked "Another One Bites The Dust" backing track from Queen themselves. But even better is the instrumental version available on a 3 track single. link
Personally I adore the instrumental, though it does still have a bit of Annie's 'nah nah nah' background vocal in two spots.
You can find on the spanish version (Madrid show) an extra cd single with a "jazzy - classic" version of "Solo por ti" (No one but you) featuring Brian and Roger.
The spanish record is good. The live show is much better!! I'm waiting for the DVD.
Oh yeah, I forgot that one. That's a nice version of the song too. That 2 disc set was just recently listed at CD Universe: link
The 2nd disc is an audio/video CD with two versions of Solo Por Ti and two videos.
