Play.com are revealling some details about the Live-aid Dvd set: link
It costs a respectable £30.99 - although I'm sure other online retailers will have it cheaper.
What excites me is the DD / DTS sound. This along with with the Milton Keynes DVD will end 2004 in style!
Let's be fair: The manufacturer's RRP is £39.99, while "Play" is offering at present £30.99 (including postage and delivery).
Perhaps some sites may offer this for a few quid less, but by the time you add postage it sort of equalises.
But my point is this, I have used this company for many years - and I find them extremely reliable and efficient, and have had no causes for complaint - but then again, each to his own!
Play.com have never let me down and on the odd occasion I've had a disc that's been damaged in the post, they replace it with no fuss - unlike some other companies.
They also tend to deliver pre-ordered stuff a few days early as well.
I don't tend to get excited by dts surround on "live" concerts as they are normally faked from a stereo source,
but I gather that this may be different....
If you want it cheaper, I would wait for the Region 1. Amazon.com are already offering it on pre-order for less than £20, and I'm sure it will be available cheaper then that, once sites like DVD Soon have it on their database. I assume this is getting a simultaneous worldwide release?
CD-Wow are now selling the Live aid Box set for only £17.99! link
Does anyone know for those of us living in the UK - will we be hit with a post office / customs charge?
I've ordered plenty from Cd-wow before. In fact, I just got the MK dvd today. Great stuff. I've used them quite a few times over the last couple of years.
Peace,
Adam.
