*If your just going to yell at me for being a Newbie, please don't answer*
This is just a question that I've pondered for a while and even tried to look for the answer. What IS IT with the end of "One Vision"? Are they saying "One Vision" or "Fried Chicken"? I've looked at Queen lyrics pages and all of them say "One Vision". But whatever version I listen to, it sounds like "Fried Chicken". Am I delusional or does anyone else hear it? Can anyone tell me why they say "fried chicken?"
Ya, it's fried chicken. AND I love that ending....I also love chicken...buffalo chicken....watering mouth.....savory sauce....awe man... I better stop..
Sebastian wrote: The ending is NOT fried chicken. Because after that there's a "vision" loop and then "god works in mysterious ways". So THAT is the last line
You don't have to get completely technical here... :)

Yeah it was, I remember Roger calling me on a very warm day in '85. And he asked me if they could use Fried Chicken in a song. I agreed, only if they would release a few boxsets in the next 20 years. The band agreed
They did use Fried Chicken, but they never released the boxsets - The bastards!

Yeah, they called niek before he was born, he was THAT important to their plan :P
Jim bet Freddie that he wouldn't sing "Fried Chicken" at the end of the song but he did and Jim was most surprised. Then he apparently got him to leave it in and the rest is history. Of some sort.
Considering that Jim Hutton is not a very good source to rely on, I'll go with what Phoebe (Peter Freestone to you newbies) said in his book. The band would sometimes get bored recording and would do a lot of funny stuff (watch the One Vision documentary on GVH2) and maybe on a whim, Freddie said the line we all know and love and decided to keep it but never bothered to officially change the lyric. And if anyone still quests after changed lyrics, Machines (Or Back To Humans) has a slight alteration. "It ain't no place for rock n roll" was originally (according to the US CD booklet) "It ain't no place for you and me."
