Since someone brought up the subject of teenagers, it made me wonder if there are any older people out there who have only recently become diehard fans?
That's a start. I would like to know ifthere's at least one other person who was sentient during the 70's, but a little slow off the mark in coming to their senses about music! It was only 2 years ago for me!
Robin!
Bullwinkle, I had no idea you were so old. You don't seem like it.
So there's an insult and a compliment at the same time. I'm 33 and feel about 70 at the moment.
Im 38 myself. Seen Queen 7 times live. 5 times in the USA and twice in the UK.
I consider those the best concerts I have ever seen beside Led Zep at Madison Square Garden.
Seen Aerosmith 4 times and The Rolling Stones 5 times, Bowie 6 times and The Clash 5 times too.
Love em all.
Of all the lead singers Freddie was always the coolest and at times (the dirtiest)anyone who has seen him in his unitard knows what I mean! LOL!
Remember the red and white TIGHT shorts.....yes!
Gotta love em!
Kriz ;o)

Holy shit, Kriz!! I don't care too much for the other bands and I kind of got used to this little feeling of jealousy of those who were lucky to see Queen live but you've also seen The Clash 5 times??? They're my favourite band besides Queen! I met Joe Strummer in Brooklyn in 2002, just 8 months before he died. He was the nicest guy you could meet. But it didn't really make up for all the Clash gigs I couldn't see.
:-(
When did you see The Clash?
You're a lucky person, you know that, don't you?
;-)
Just to add something to the topic, my mum is 50 and is a huge Queen fan. She's actually the reason why I've become one.
My mum is 67, likes Queen a lot, met Brian & Roger (and got their autographs for me) and came with me to see Brian at Hammersmith on the BTTL tour.
My Dad.....hates anything newer than Patsy Cline :-s
42, and first got into them Killer Queen when it hit no2 in Uk charts - earlier this month 1974...i was hooked - ever since
30 years a queen fan....five gigs and loads of records later (all sold to make room in house 1991) and still a queen fan
only band i've like for longer is the beatles - and blame my dad for that - strawberry fields/penny lane continually
