Watch her crying her eyes out as she gave up in the Marathon?
Call me sadistic, but I was kind of hoping she'd at least have the decency to finish fourth again.
I love to see sportspeople choke, unless I've money on 'em. Tim Henman and Colin Montgomery are my two faves.
You've got to laugh. You do, though.
Love it...
The whole hype made me really wanting them to lose miseribly... And so they did... Proove that in sport still stars create themselves, rather than are created by British TV (apart from Beckham...)
I was thrilled considering i put a considerable sum (for me at least ¬_¬) on Mizuki to win... yaaay :-3
Now lets hope japan can keep it up in the women's wrestling.
That goes also for the so called "Dream Team" in reference from the U.S. Basketball team...
'Dream Team' my ass!!
If this was the 'Dream Team' they wouldn't have lost 2 games, while keeping all the rest of the games by a tight score margin. I certainly hope that another team like Lithuania, Spain, Argentina, or Puerto Rico win the gold medal and the U.S. team won't even take the bronze.
Now, back in 1992 when the U.S. had Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Karl Malone, Larry Bird, and Charles Barkley, hell THAT WAS A DREAM TEAM. Not only for the names of the players, but they prooved to be the absolute best basketball team ever by defeating all their opponents by landslide with a margin of at least 44 points.
"Now, back in 1992 when the U.S. had Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Karl Malone, Larry Bird, and Charles Barkley, hell THAT WAS A DREAM TEAM"
Couldn't agree more!!!! That was something amazing!!!!
Why every single U.S. Basketball team since Barcelona '92 has to be called "Dream Team"?
That's like Brazil calling every single soccer team they've had since 1970 "Dream Team". Regarless of what the team or their players individually have achieved.
Never seen so much arrogance since Bono and the Gallagher brothers called their bands "the biggest on earth"
Call me sad but i felt genuinely sorry for her. Unlike alot of sports people, she doesnt get paid millions per year, shes in it to win it for her country, not just herself- shes a geniune lady and she didnt deserve all this. it was bad luck. whats worse is the media saying the whole nation pinned its hopes on her- bollocks!its the olympics- its about the team!
I would struggle to run 2.6 minutes let alone 26 miles... I thought she showed good character and courage during the press conferences.
I have sympathy for genuine athletes that fail - not the over paid tossers in the premiership that fail on a regular basis.
People go 'awww poor dqavid beckham, he missed that penalty' when all he has to do is aim a ball and get it past another man.
Paula Radcliff cant manage one of the longest races in history and suddenly shes 'let the country down' Oh please please get the priorities in order!
