I like the "One Vision"-intro during the Magic-tour and the "Machines"-intro during the Works-tour. I still have goose pimples when I listen to this and when the four enter the stage.
Make ´em def and blind!
The tour of 1977,the intro to A Day at the Races is played on tape, which in turn leads to Brian playing the first rift of Tie your mother down, then huge thunder flashes explode and Fred and the boys come through the the dry ice and let rip, deafning, blinding and brilliant.
From a personal point of view I would say the Magic Tour but thats because I remember the feeling of excitement of being there,it was just great.
Though I would have to say the 1977 shows, where they had the huge crown rising from the stage, that would have been the most spectacular.
I actually like the BoRhap heavy section played on the beginning with the operatic intro tape (with Kenny Everett) and than using BoRhap as a part of the medley...
Second place- definitely We Will Rock You (fast)
Last- "One Vision"... Cool track but not very good opener...
ADATR intro...
far the best.....
Second?
so many...
Flash - The hero
Bo rhap - 75
WWRY tape... 77
Procession 74
and the worst for me are
One vision
Machines-tear it Up
Procession is such a regal intro - I saw this on a rare concert and it worked so well.
I think it mightn't have worked as well in later concerts - but was ideal for the time.
I also like the way the One Vision intro built up to such a climax for the start of the Magic Tour concerts.
1. A day at the races intro.
2. Machines (loved it in combination with the futuristic stage)
3. Flash/the hero
4. Procession
5. Thunder/we will rock you
One Vision is the penultimate Queen intro, especially teamed with a large amount of lasers, lights, and pyrotechnics.
Flash + The Hero works pretty good as well.
I personally think that I Want It All and Innuendo would've been the intro tunes to the hypothetical tours for their respective albums.
Mr Coolest Cat wins for the Day at the Races tour intro for Tie Your Mother Down. Runner up would be News of the World, when a tpae of the extended foot stomps would begin, Freddie appeared on a riser stage right to sing the short version of WWRY, and Brian appeared on a riser stage left for the solo. After that they launched into the fast WWRY, awesome stuff.
No one mentions the Beautiful Day/Eminem/Reaching out/Tie your mother down intro?
I can't remember all intros, but One Vision from Magic Tour was definately a very good one in my opinion.
Another good one would have been Breakthu, when they would have toured when The Miracle came out, starting with sounds and rhythms from the extended version (ofcourse longer than the studio version), then starting to play live right after the NOW part from this extended version.

The "hummmmm" (single keyboard note?) with the weeping guitar before the thunderclaps circa 1980 (and on the WWRY concert video).
Hate the One Vision intro, but then again I think I'd like it if I could actually see the *stage* while it's playing (all the concert videos screwed this up really bad IMHO...you never get to see what the audience was seeing at the beginning of the show.)
Oh my other favorite was the TYMD intro while the giant crown was rising up circa 1977 :)
