Nothing's been confirmed, and it probably won't be for awhile, but Brian just said on his Soapbox that Budapest will make a great DVD. Here's the quote if you don't want to dig through the complaints about the WWRY DVD. :)
"It's not all bad - we have a lovely filmed version of our show in Budapest in 1986 - beautifully shot by Hungary's best film cameramen - the best in the world. So one day we will make this into a nice DVD, which I think will restore quality to our ouvre!"
I hope Budapest won't hit DVD anytime soon. Nothing against the concert mind you, it's just too similar to Wembley, there needs to be a gap between those DVDs.
Seen it once and really loved it!!! Budapest was a great gig, imo even better then Wembley!! Freddie sang a lot better, and the audience was beautiful, really beautiful concert. I sure as hell wouldn't mind if they released it on DVD!!
I would like to see Budapest on DVD. My memories of the VHS are quite fond.
Brian was only mentioning this show for the fact that it exists on film, in regards to the high quality mentioned with the WWRY DVD. I don't think it's an indication that it's the next DVD or anything.
I love the idea! Of course it would be great to have few others, earlier shows but... having Budapest on DVD as well- COMPLETE ONE- wouldn't be bad either! It's much better show than Wembley...
The question is...
Will they be able to slow down the film so that the audio will play at the correct pitch? The VHS and uncut soundboard are a semitone fast.
Geez, are you sure about that GH? I just sped up Killer Queen by a semitone and it's a huge difference, took 10 seconds off and Freddie sounds rather odd. I can't believe they'd have released anything like that. But I would imagine they'll do it right, especially if it's off by that much.
Yepper, I guarantee they play a semitone too fast. Just compare any song on Budapest to Wembley. If you've got a wave editing program, bring down the Budapest song by a semitone, and you'll see!
