I've read this somewhere, but seeing as they spelled Freddie with an "y" in the same article (like "Freddie"), I don't think it's very reliable.
Anyone knows this?
I think I've seen that article...
But anyway, I'm not sure if Freddie wrote poetry, but I think that writing lyrics counts as poetry, and since writing those lyrics was essentially his job, I doubt he'd be writing extra poetry on his down time. Plus, being a person who hated to read, poetry probably wasn't one of his top priorities.
Freddie once said in an interview "I'm not asked to be a poet" but in writing his lyrics, most in the love ballads,he speaks an universal language that touch our soul very deeply. And for me this is poetry...
In the Champions of the World video, Freddie states in one interview that he actually hates writing lyrics and that he wished somebody else would do it. Therefore, I would say, he did not write poetry.
However, for someone hating to write lyrics he did a damn good job at times.
Freddie was a poet. If you read his lyrics and without the music its sheer poetry and nothing more. and ive heard he hated writeing but i havent seen anyone write a songs so well in my life.
