I could swear (from the first day I heard it) that the high pitched line: -I've had enough,............ (of this same old game....) it's Brians voice singing the "I've" part(whether it's blended with Freddies or just inserted), but I don't know why, but I believe that, for some reason, Freddie's voice wasn't that clear/high/suitable etc.. and postproduction went in there... If you listen carefully you will find that "that" very bit sounds VERY VERY much as Brians tone and pitch... |
Gunpowder Gelatine 16.08.2004 20:44 |
Just listened to the part you're talking about, and it sounds like Freddie to me. |
Adam Baboolal 16.08.2004 21:08 |
While I understand what you're referring to and even heard what you're talking about, it's doubtful. Peace, Adam. |
Daburcor? 16.08.2004 21:32 |
It's Freddie. JUST Freddie. |
KJ 17.08.2004 07:20 |
That was one of the first things I noticed too while listening to ML. That "Iiiiii've tone" sounds very much like Brian |
Simmer 17.08.2004 08:12 |
It's Freddie. |
Whisperer 17.08.2004 08:16 |
It's Freddie and Brian mixed into one voice, I think. |
Daburcor? 17.08.2004 08:22 |
Nope. JUST Freddie. All alone. No-one else. ;p |
Mercuryking 17.08.2004 10:57 |
NO its JUST freddie , how can you think that its brian?? it doesnt even sound like brian, brian doesnt have that power in his voice. Cant you hear that its freddies voice? you think freddie cant sing that by his own?? you think freddie cant sing "I've had enough" but can sing the rest like " Out in the city in the cold world outside"?? which is much higher vocals Maybe its all brian that sings mother love?? lol |
FriedChicken 17.08.2004 11:38 |
"Freddie Mercury -Best Voice -Best Composer =Best Talented Musican Ever" But then again, you're a Stepford |

Penis - Vagina 17.08.2004 14:09 |
This reminds me of the thing with a Hot Space track which people insist is Brian for like one or two words.. I think it's Put Out The Fire? So silly I've forgotten. :-P |
Garden Lodge 17.08.2004 14:40 |
Don't get me wrong. I believe Freddie could pull that off anytime, but in his state at the time, but in that particular second ("I've)it sounds to me very Brian like. The very first half second of the high-pitched voice. Theres is A LOT of post production in that album for many reasons and one of them Freddie being very ill at that time. And Mother love I belive it was a constructed song because it was Freddie's last one. His voice was fine BUT for short periods due to his illness. I really believe that theres some Brian input on that particular note, but its my humble & personal opinion....:) |
Sebastian 17.08.2004 15:42 |
I think most likely Brian would go in falsetto for that note. |
Adam Baboolal 17.08.2004 15:51 |
No he wouldn't Seb. I'm surprised to see you think that considering how in-depth your site usually is. Peace, Adam. |
Sebastian 17.08.2004 16:07 |
I mean not that he CAN'T do that note without falsetto. But I guess he WOULD try it that way instead. But of course "would" and "definately did" is very different, as well as "I guess" and "I bet my life that...". It's just a comment |
jasen101 17.08.2004 16:58 |
It's just freddie in my opinion. |
Virtuoso 17.08.2004 17:15 |
But why would Brian try to go in falsetto for that note?Wouldn't make any sens.Anyway,it's Freddie. |
Adam Baboolal 17.08.2004 20:06 |
Exactly, Virtuoso. Listen to tracks from Another World and it's pretty clear he'd have no trouble with that bit. Peace, Adam. |

It's all Freddie! His voice did change since being ill. I believe it is 100% Fred! |
Garden Lodge 18.08.2004 03:12 |
Whats ppl???? (by the way) |
Gunpowder Gelatine 18.08.2004 03:37 |
I think it's people, but I could be wrong. I'm horrible when it comes to netspeak. |
RMT Fan 18.08.2004 05:35 |
I think it's Freddie singing it. But there is another fragment in No-one but you this time, that I always thought sounded like Freddie - word 'forever' in the second part of the song, the last line sung by Roger. |
~Blue_Acid~ 18.08.2004 16:47 |
Well if your like me and know their vocal patterns then you know it is Brian singing then Freddie comes back in. Roger is easy to pick out because he has a Contra-tenor voice (male soprano) and Live he is herd well cause of the many microphones surrounding his trap-set. Brian Is reconised easily by his tone an a baratone. His voice is unique and when singing lead it is not as strong as Freddie's. Freddies is strong and rich and beleive it or not Freddie was also a baratone NOT an tenor. Freddie is also claimed by some to have sung live and not in the studio. This is false. The vocal patterns live and in studio are the same. Freddies live voice sounds diffrent number one because the live-styled microphone, Two singing at long periods of time without a break and three he is projectiong more because the live mic has lower pick-up quality then the studio. And to answer the Queastion it is Brian singing. |
Sebastian 18.08.2004 16:55 |
In my opinion, Roger is light tenor, not counter-tenor. Brian is also light tenor, his low range is not strong. |
Mercuryking 19.08.2004 15:09 |
fatstrat: yeah and who made you the expert? You should check your ears you know. You clearly hear that its ONLY freddie and NO ONE ELSE |

FriedChicken wrote: "Freddie Mercury -Best Voice -Best Composer =Best Talented Musican Ever"That signature = best example of faulty logic I've seen all day. Obviously you haven't heard very much quality music other than Queen. Hate to break it to you, but Freddie isn't even in the top 100 musicians ever. Adam Baboolal wrote: Exactly, Virtuoso. Just listen to Resurrection. |

Sebastian 20.08.2004 05:02 |
As far as I know, Elton's voice changed after some kind of surgey (I may be wrong about the exact fact). |
Mercuryking 20.08.2004 11:58 |
sir GH: hey i dont know about music? im into music production myself , and i find freddie as the most inspiring muscian. He is without a doubt the nr 1 musician ever in my opinion and many others. (Not to forget the nr 1 voice too) And that crap about he isnt even at top 100, thats a good pile of BULLSHIT if you ask me. |

I'm sure the reason is because it was incredibly painful for him to do with his illness, as he only did it a small handful of times on the album. Poor Fred. Sebastian wrote: As far as I know, Elton's voice changed after some kind of surgey (I may be wrong about the exact fact). You may be right. His voice took a huge plunge around 76-77. |

Yeap, Elton John did get a surgery. |
