Has anyone here ever sang a part of a song or heard the words wrong in a song and then find out that he completely sings a different thing. Or in other words, has anyone ever experienced mis heard lyrics in a Queen song? I find myself doing that all the time and it isn't just in Queen songs. I do it for other songs as well.
The one that sticks in my mind the most is that in "Hammer to Fall" when he says anesthetic, I was thinking he said "ass bandit" until I got "The Works" album and actually looked at the lyrics.
I could also never understnad the words to "Tie Your Mother Down" and then I got ADATR and finally got them figured out.
For awhile, I was convinced that instead of 'I'm just a poor boy' it was 'I'm just a pool boy' in Bohemian Rhapsody. I was the same with Tie Your Mother Down, too.
When I first heard Bo Rhap, I had never heard of the devil being called "Beelzebub" (bad sp, I know...sorry). So I had no idea what they were saying at that point.

In "Don't Stop Me Now" I thought instead of "I'm gonna make a supersonic woman of you", I thought he says "supersonic one out of you".
Also in Under Pressure I thought he said
"Quick my brains are on the floor"
not
"Kick my Brains around the floor."
:>
Wow, I have a lot of those.
-My Fairy King: I thought "pearls for poor man's eyes" was "birds will poop and die"
-Invisible Man: I thought "so I make my mark from the edge of the world" was "so I thank my mom from the edge of the world"
-Bohemian Rhapsody: There were so many, I can't even think of them all. Especially in the opera section.
I actually can't think of anymore right now...
Never had that myself, I always look at the lyrics for queen-songs... but a friend of mine had this with WWRY, he thought that they where singin: "kickin' your cat all over the place"....instead of "kickin' your can all over the place"
very funny....

The last line in Mustapha: As a kid I thought it was "Allah Coupe Soleil", when in fact it is "Aleikum Salaam".
Coupe Soleil is a word used in French and Dutch for blonde highlights in your hair.
Somebody to Love: I thought "Got no common sense" was "Got no compensates"
Killer Queen: I thought "Recommended at the price" was "Recommend it at the pass"

Where did you get the lyrics from Mustapha?? They're not in the album....
I'd like to have those.. Just wondering what they sing...
I misheard the lyrics to Radio Ga-Ga...(actually I only found out the real words a few days ago)...but in a rare turn of events, my misheard lyrics actually made sense
Real
"You've had your time! You've had the power!
You've yet to have your finest hour!"
Mine
"You've heard the cry! You've heard the call!
You've answered well! Your finest hour!"
And before that, I thought "your finest hour" was "the fight is on!" Which still woulda made sense, because of the "battle" between radio and video.
I had some trouble with tracks on Queen II, but other than that not much confusion. At least Freddie wasn't as bad as Steve Winwood or Chrissie Hynde :-P
In Death On Two Legs, when he says "Talk like a big buisness tycoon", I always thought he said "Talk like a big bitch 'n it's not cool"
(I actually like my version better . . .)
In BoRhap, I always thought "Anyway the wind blows" was "Hit me where the wind blows" even though it makes no sense.
In Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, whenever he said "because I'm a good old fashioned lover boy", I always thought he was singing "because of a good old fashioned lover boy", and for the longest time I thought he was singing about some lover boy of his, rather than BEING a lover boy himself, so I was really confused at to why everyone said Freddie kept his sexuality really private . . .
I had 'hit me where the wind blows' too.
Last one of these threads I cited FBG and said that I always thought "Hold on/I say cool it man..." was "Hot Dog". It didn't take someone long to tell me that "Hot Dog" was right in the first place.
So I guess you could call that a misheard misheard lyric.
My ex-gf always thought on Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon, instead of "Fridays I go painting in the Louvre" that he said "Fridays I go painting in the nude"....LOL!
Of course, she also thought at the beginning of The Beatles' All You Need Is Love, instead of saying "Love, Love, Love", they were saying "Blah, Blah, Blah"
Ya...before I even thought to look at the lyrics in the cd cover I used to think in Bohemian Rhapsody in the part when Freddie sings..."so you think you can stop me and spit in my eyes." he was saying, "so you think you can stop me and spit while I."
In Don't Stop me Now, when Freddie sings, "I'm a sex machine ready to reload." I thought he was saying, "I'm a six machine ready to reload."
I'm sure there are a bunch more but I just don't wanna spend too much time thinking about...time to move on to the next topic...lol.
