September 13th 1973, Golders Green Hippodrome, London, England - Master Of "Sheetkeeckers" this is the earlyestone i can find tho |
whitemanadmin 15.08.2004 04:31 |
The Ibex gig, where roger and brian join them on stage is I suppose the earliest time(without john). I have seen this as MP3 but not as proper audio |
Rien 15.08.2004 06:21 |
The earliest Queen concert I have in my list is 09.04.73 UK, London, Marquee Club. Well, on my site there's an MP3 that is named Rock 'n' Roll medley Golders Green 1973. Got it from a reliable source. |
David Jones 15.08.2004 07:50 |
Your Earls Court gig sounds great Rien! Where did you get that from?! |
Rien 15.08.2004 08:02 |
If you mean the two fragments I have on my site, where Freddie talks to the public, then I can say I ripped the audio from a dvd I got from someone. That dvd was copied directly from VHS-recording. I've just put those two fragments on my site, this time as wmv-video. |
Pim Derks 15.08.2004 10:22 |
The earliest Queen live recording available so far is Golder's Green Hippodrome - September 13, 1973. As far as I know anything before that is a fake. Ofcourse, Barry Mitchell has a 1970 or 1971 performance with him playing bass and I'm sure there are people out there with stuff from before Golders Green Hippodrome - but that stuff is not available to the "general" public. |
Rien 15.08.2004 10:33 |
No Thomas, you're not that source... |
Pim Derks 15.08.2004 10:46 |
Jeez Caspar - do you think your recording is special or something ? Golders Green Hippodrome is one of the most widely spread Queen bootlegs. The RNR medley leaked out a few years back so it is nothing special. Now, if you had the FULL concert with the slow SCC and stuff.... |
Roy ® 15.08.2004 11:06 |
Ohhh that's a pity Thomas you are not the source. What were you trying to reach, would you like to hear "Yes Thomas you are the source, may thanks" I don't think many people like that behaviour. |
Rien 15.08.2004 11:11 |
btw, by putting that medley on my site, I'm not implying that it's something that special. It's just there for those who haven't got it. |
David Jones 15.08.2004 12:51 |
> BTW: I do have the full concert. MP3, though. Full, full concert??! |
Pim Derks 15.08.2004 13:48 |
Ofcourse not David. The guy thinks he knows a lot - but he obviously doesn't. And if he's not kidding and does have the full concert - I'm willing to think about his peace offer in return for the concert ;) |
Adam Baboolal 15.08.2004 13:57 |
So, me having Sheetkeeckers doesn't matter then? Has somene else uploaded it? Peace, Adam. |

Pim Derks 15.08.2004 14:49 |
what does "vindictive" mean? To lazy to look it up :) |
Rien 15.08.2004 15:47 |
OMG, is it so hard to find! Just look at link Life can be so easy! |

vindictive = unwilling to forgive |

It's a bit much to think that Rien's other source was the person who downloaded it from you on Soulseek. |

Pim Derks wrote: If it was fake, what was it then?I can;t remember, but it was given to me as the rock'n'roll medley from golders green, and if you listen to them the announcers were different, so it couldn't have been real. The FULL Golders Green concert: Everything else is just NONESENSE!!! Queen: Unreleased BBC Radio Session, Live Golders Green Hippodrome 13th September 1973 BBC Pop Spectacular Transcription Services 135600 – S Rogues And Scoundrels Bootleg LP Saturday Night’s All Right For Fighting Bootleg CD Cry Argentina Bootleg CD In Concert BBC Radio One. I don't think there's any videomaterial from before 1974... Maybe some private stuff, but not professionally filmed... Most Queenconcerts in 1972/1973 were probably around an hour long. edit: I'm talking about live-material. Ofcourse there's stuff such as the Liar / KYA videos. |

(Earliest known bootleg – but dreadful quality copies compared to reel-to-reel = different sources?). The common "Marquee 1972" bootleg is a FAKE mix sourced in fact from the Oxford 20/11/1973 soundcheck+concert, not from the real 1972 recording as on the reel-to-reel.More details on my "Fake Live" guide on link BTW - Interesting to know that Big Spender and Bama Lama Lama Loo are on the full R'n'R Medley of Golders Green. These two were perfectly cut out from the leaked copy then? I can't notice any edit on it... |

Queenland: "The common "Marquee 1972" bootleg is a FAKE mix sourced in fact from the Oxford 20/11/1973 soundcheck+concert, not from the real 1972 recording as on the reel-to-reel.More details on my "Fake Live" guide on link That is indeed correct Queenland, but there is also a genuine bootleg of the same concert also. This boot is very rare and appeared on LP only c1975 - 76 (between "Opera" and "Races") - it was never a great disc as the sound source was so poor. (The original reel-to-reel tape was so much better - but that too is similar in sound to the "Ibex tape - so not much cop by to-day's standards!) The cover was a plain white card/paper sleeve with photocopy insert - so it was never a thing of beauty either. As it was not "collectable", it never "repeated" the initial run. (I guess at perhaps a hundred or so discs?). The later bootlegs (mainly CD) noticed that the track listing was (as you correctly pointed out) similar to Oxford 20/11/1973 - and so the one became substituted for the other, and as you also correctly allude to, this "mistake" has never been corrected. |
Queenland 18.08.2004 09:10 |
> there is also a genuine bootleg of the same concert also. This boot is very rare and appeared on LP only Can you please let me know what is the exact title/matrix number/record company/country of this LP ? I never heard about a Marquee 72 bootleg vinyl disc. |
John S Stuart 18.08.2004 18:06 |
Can you please let me know what is the exact title/matrix number/record company/country of this LP ? "Live at the Marquee" - UK "release" no other info except on the run in groove... "Shang-a-lang" and "Thanks Les". No catalogue number or company information, which supports the idea of a private pressing. The album cover is very similar to "sheetkickers" in that apart from a poor insert photocopy picture - on one side, and track listing on the other - that's it I'm afraid. |
Queenland 19.08.2004 12:24 |
Wow - thank you VERY much for the info. This one is not even on the Andreas Voigts discography (at least not on my 2000 edition) ! |
pepe_botella 19.08.2004 13:41 |
can anyone upload it, it might be an easy to find bootleg in USA and UK, but heere in Argentina imported stuff is very hard to find.... and very expensive too... thanks a lot. -------------------------------- Everything you ask I do, for you |
