THANKS! A little hiss on these, but not bad overall. 128 bitrate it seems. |
Rael 14.08.2004 04:13 |
Victor: Excelent post!! Thanks a lot :D Greetings from Argentina Sebas |
David Jones 14.08.2004 05:27 |
Cool, thanks Victorvil! So the files on Grammy are still there then? Just the main page theat is down... hmmm... Anyone got anymore links? |
syncursor 15.08.2004 01:42 |
Thanks, Victorvil. These recordings sound much better than the ones I already had. Much appreciation here! :) |
joeyjojo 15.08.2004 10:59 |
I stumbled across a version of 'it's late' that I was told was from this session. It certainly sounds like the same version, except the file I have has an audience-track added and is of almost pristine quality (no hiss what so-ever...full range of audio). Is that the same show? Is this '77 session out there being sourced from different masters (old taped radio broadcast vs. something better?) Were there multiple radio casts of this show? |
David Jones 15.08.2004 12:50 |
I think somebody used the recording and then added fake audience to the background and then passed it off as a new bootleg... |
Victorvil 15.08.2004 15:23 |
exactly, it's a fake show... so, the mp3 that you have is from this session. soon the unreleased 1973 session keep yourself alive liar see what a fool i've been son and daughter i'm hoping to find the links see you |
David Jones 15.08.2004 15:28 |
Great stuff! how are you finding these links? Cause I'd like to find the rest of the bands who used to be on Grammy. Email us if you want... |
joeyjojo 15.08.2004 15:36 |
OK, here's the 'mystery' file that I have: link It was labeled 1981, but that's apparently wrong. Re-reading this thread: link I think I get it now...this would have been the original file, later with an audience track added, right? Regardless, they seemed to have done a fairly amazing job at fixing the sound on this track. (Please don't spread the above link around too much...it's on my poor server in the basement that can't take much of a load. ;o) |
David Jones 15.08.2004 16:37 |
Listen to it - theres no audience during most of the song! In all honesty, the track before it was probably live and they wanted to run it into this studio live recording (if you see what I mean!) rather than the crowd stop suddenly... |
joeyjojo 15.08.2004 16:48 |
I agree...I'm mostly just curious as to where this file came from, and if there are any more like it. |
Pim Derks 15.08.2004 17:55 |
The whole BBC session no. 6 has been dubbed with audience-noise. I believe it was for a US radio-show called "King Biscuit Hour" - they also officially released a compilation a few years back with the full WWRY slow/fast version on it (with audience sounds though). These fake live-tracks are mostly labeled as a late 1977 NOTW-USA tour concert. |

Pim Derks wrote: I believe it was for a US radio-show called "King Biscuit Hour" - they also officially released a compilation a few years back with the full WWRY slow/fast version on it (with audience sounds though).I know that WWRY was featured on the King Biscuit Flower Hour (a radio program in the US that featured live recordings of popular acts of the day), but this is the first time I had heard that the entire session was played. |
joeyjojo 15.08.2004 21:12 |
Aha! So perhaps the MP3 I found is from a King Biscuit Flower Hour broadcast. Hmm...the search continues... |
Adam Baboolal 15.08.2004 22:13 |
In-case it isn't anything to do with Mr Biscuit - could it possibly be from a collector who has these great copies? Adding a bit of audience tagged on so that it can be a collector teasing... Btw joeyjojo, are you posting these for all to download or were you teasing?! :) Peace, Adam. |
joeyjojo 15.08.2004 22:47 |
That's the only file I have. I'm trying to find the rest myself as well! |
goinback 16.08.2004 07:51 |
I'm beginning to think King Biscuit actually added the audience themselves. I think their compilation with WWRY came out in 1989 (I actually have the ad recorded from TV somewhere). A version of the live BBC WWRY with audience noise I downloaded 4-5 years ago from Napster was labeled as being from King Biscuit (unless someone intentionally mislabeled it but I don't know why they would).... King Biscuit was known for airing live music, so if they aired the BBC sessions without an audience in the background it would have gone against their format.... |

GREAT SONGS I LOVED THEM !!! Many thanks man! |
Victorvil 22.08.2004 22:18 |
so if you want something complete... go to london and ask to the guys on the BBC for a copy, motherfucker! i don't give a fuck it's just music... i found a lot of links from sources but now i don't want to put them here, so FUCK OFF! |
Maz 22.08.2004 23:20 |
Do you have a broader point you would like to make in the coversation, or do you enjoy taunting and mocking others? Either way, you're doing a piss-poor job of it. |
joeyjojo 22.08.2004 23:31 |
Wow...step back you two and take a look at what you are arguing about. There's more important issues in this world to get worked up about than this. ;o) "As for the debate on the "audience" on WWRY...it comes from a bootleg called "No News Is Good News"" Ah! Good info! What accounts for the high(er) quality sound from those files? Just some fancy post-processing by the bootleg publisher? |
joeyjojo 23.08.2004 00:05 |
I found this web page: link Which mentions: ---------------- For John Peel's show Queen recorded versions of 'My Melancholy Blues', 'We Will Rock You', 'Spead Your Wings' and a medly of 'It's Late' and 'Get Down Make Love' from 'News of The World'. Many people think these tapes are far better than the versions on the LP which is why there are so many versions of them around. ---------------- Who is John Peel's? I assume he's a BBC persona? Now...off to find this bootleg! ;o) |

i just put the links.... i don't check if it's complete or incomplete... i just SHARE for the people who doesn't have broadband .. i love queen and i'm buying his records periodically (soon the hits DVD's) but if you want to add a reply saying "THANKS for nothing"...it's just bad feeling that piss me off... i'm very sorry about the language that i used and i'm going to share other stuff here in the board, as usual... i just have 6 posts and 4 of them are working downloads.. Saludos a todos los sudamericanos (argentinos y chilenos especialmente) end of the cursing and mocking Madtheswine i hope the next couple of links will be complete PS: about the boyfriend... heheh.. exists....nice |
joeyjojo 24.08.2004 00:15 |
Mad: Instead of wasting your energy on ad hominem attacks and chest thumping, how about telling us a bit more about the bootleg in question? I'm genuinely interested in hearing more about it. I'm really interested in finding this...either in downloadable form or physical form. I'm still not exactly sure WHAT this bootleg is. Was this part of the main BBC sessions that people mention, or was this something unique to John Peel? Or is this simply the BBC session that John Peel added fake audience noise to? Google doesn't seem to have a lot of info on this (from what I've found so far, at least...) |

None of you know f*ck all about the band. You know, up until the “pretending to be a Queen fan (along with virtually everyone else)” statement you were actually winning your argument with me. But since this appears to be a very sweeping statement that could include everybody and not just Victor, let me make this perfectly clear to you - I AM A QUEEN FAN, and have been since the very early days and have probably forgot more than you'll ever know. You all get awfully excited at every announcement each time a concert is available to download...ie. basic concerts that the real fans have already owned for several years. None of you appear to have even heard of the "No News Is Good News" bootleg...a very well-known one.So what if some fans don’t know about the “No News Is Good News” bootleg – its not surprising cause they are loads of bootlegs thanks to CD’r’s, the internet and dodgy traders and the like many of which have probably gone on under different names. The Xmas 1975 concert for instance was also called “Command Performance” long before the Milton Keynes one. And also, you don’t need to own any bootlegs to be a “real” fan – loads of fans like myself couldn’t afford to pay rip off prices to traders in the days before the internet. You probably never even went to any Queen gigs. You lot just read up on it years later.Have you ever thought that Victor, or most of the people on this board, may have just been a little too young or not even born round about Queens last concert? |

If so, you'll know of me under a different name, and you'll know that (unlike you) I really was there at the beginning. So according to you, to be a Queen fan consists of meeting the individual members of the band, owning every recording bootleg or otherwise, book and every piece of merchandise AND now it also consists of having joined Audiogalaxy (and no I haven’t bothered with that site)? If not I’m sure you enlighten me |
