Well, I just listened to Love Of My Life yesterday. I used to skip over it because I thought it wasn't....er...good. Then I couldn't change it, and I listened to it, and I love it now. I've listened to it like, 5 times now... My favorite line in the song is "That I still love you- Still love you". I like the backup voices and the way they did that. It almost makes me cry when I hear it.
Love of My Life, studio version, is fabulous. The live arrangement is totally lame and I can't fathom why they did it that way or why everyone liked it so much.

I KIND OF agree with you. The studio version is one of Freddie's finest songs, In my opinion. But, I also like the live versions... Just not NEARLY as much. :P

Yes, well, I'm not trying to say it completely sucked live, it's just dissapointing compared to the incredible beauty of the studio recording.
For those who don't like the live versions of LOML as much as the studio version:
The earlier live versions were much more similar to the studio version than the later versions when the audiences took over. Try getting some News Of The World bootlegs (i.e. download the New York 77 concert), if you already haven't.
I love the song regardless of how it's performed. The acoustic style with audience sing-along is always quite nice (except in Canada) and the studio version is beautiful but I'm not real fond of the harp.. it's a bit much :-P

Except in Canada? Hate to break it to you, but US audiences didn't sing to it, either!
