why don't they just release the entire 1982 japan gig AS WELL, or at least the edited version that's been available in japan for 20 years? Obviously the 25 minutes worth of clips is from that same concert. |
| Adam Baboolal 13.08.2004 12:20 |
Wow... Now, I think we can pretty much agree that this is going to be interesting! I'm very happy to see some alternate concerts from the tour. Are those concerts considered highlights? Peace, Adam. |
| Gunpowder Gelatine 13.08.2004 12:26 |
This looks great. I can't wait for it to come out! |
| HDvorak 13.08.2004 12:49 |
Cool, but disc two is only an hour?! Zep gave us 5 1/2 hours worth spread over two discs. I want it all! |
| HDvorak 13.08.2004 12:49 |
|
| agneepath! 11994 13.08.2004 12:59 |
Its looking good... but I'm kinda surprised that there are no new Brian / Roger interviews looking back at that period in Queen's history. |
| Whisperer 13.08.2004 13:42 |
Why stupid highlight!?! Can't they just release everything they have? |
| Holly2003 13.08.2004 14:36 |
Maybe they are teasers for future live releases of the full concerts. If not, it's disappointing that they chose some of Queen's more well-known songs as "extras" - it wouldn't bother me if I never heard another live version of AOBTD WWRY, or WATC. But I'll be buying this for the Milton Keynes show, not the extras. |
| Wayne Gretzky 13.08.2004 14:46 |
"Maybe they are teasers for future live releases of the full concerts." Don't think so. |
| Mayboy 13.08.2004 14:50 |
Omg! Looks great, simply cant wait :D |
| Pim Derks 13.08.2004 14:50 |
Nice, but a pity that they didn't include the full Japan video... I hope some more extras will be added, as 1 hour does seem like very little, especially when DVD's can contain like 3 or 4 hours in perfect quality.... |
| Daz85 13.08.2004 16:14 |
Yeah but, I was scratching my head the other thinking about what possible extras they could put in. Everything here is what I guessed, because of the lack of material from this era. Like somebody said, it would have been nice for new Brian and Roger interviews like those features on the Wembley set. Looks good though. |
| Daz85 13.08.2004 16:17 |
Also, I wonder if the Tokyo '82 concert will get an official Japanese DVD release like 'Final Live'? Perhaps thats what it wasn't all included. Also, I've just remembered that wasn't most of the Hot Space Euro gigs filmed? Whatever happened to this footage? |
| Gunpowder Gelatine 13.08.2004 16:21 |
Then maybe those concert snippets are a teaser for upcoming DVDs. I haven't heard anything, but it's possible. Kind of stretch, but a clip from Milton Keynes was included on GVHII, and then the DVD followed. Hopefully, this is the same situation. |
| Pim Derks 13.08.2004 16:27 |
"You don't seriously think that they would release several concerts from the same tour, do you?" They released Budapest, Wembley and parts of Knebworth (on Live Magic) for god's sake. Who knows what they think of next.... Anyway, I wouldn't mind having a full USA'82 tour on DVD :) |
| Gunpowder Gelatine 13.08.2004 16:28 |
Maybe it's unlikely, but there's no need to jump on me for saying something. Anyway, you never really know what goes on in the mind of Queen Productions. |
| YourValentine 13.08.2004 16:50 |
Yes, the full show, that's fantastic. I can't wait to see it. |
| Daburcor? 13.08.2004 17:05 |
YourValentine wrote: Yes, the full show, that's fantastic. I can't wait to see it.I agree! Though, I am stunned at the number of complaints in this thread! I guess I expected to much of my fellow 'zoners'... ;) |
| pma 13.08.2004 17:37 |
Looks good. I hope the 5.1 isn't a stereo-upmix though. |
| Maz 13.08.2004 18:19 |
It sounds like a great DVD. Have we heard any concrete release dates yet? I can't remember what the US date was? Nov 10 maybe? |
| Adam Baboolal 13.08.2004 18:41 |
I don't think we can really ask for more cause like some said, what is there? The only thing mentioned are up-to-date interviews. We'll just have to see. Peace, Adam. |
| rhapsody__87 14.08.2004 00:33 |
Hey, I'm excited! And there's a Freddie interview... what more could we ask for? |
| The Real Wizard 14.08.2004 00:47 |
Darren Robins wrote: Also, I've just remembered that wasn't most of the Hot Space Euro gigs filmed? Whatever happened to this footage? The only other shows that we know for sure were filmed are Frankfurt and Vienna's first night. And I think everything that exists from Frankfurt is what is being released on the DVD this year. I'm looking forward to seeing this footage. So now we know for sure, MK will have six new songs. Amazing! Too bad they couldn't include anything new from the Tokyo show, though. |
| Michael Allred 14.08.2004 00:57 |
Widescreen or full screen? :) |
| Kilpat1 14.08.2004 02:40 |
Wouldnt it have been nice if they would of did this for the Wembley DVD as well with the highlights from Knebworth on it. I wonder why they are so hestitant to release whatever footage they have of Knebworth. it was the last show. I wanan see freddie singing watc for the last time you know> |
| Wayne Gretzky 14.08.2004 08:01 |
I think it's a shame they didn't include the Queen Cam on this DVD as well. |
| thanks freddie 14.08.2004 12:33 |
Can't wait, looking foreward michel |
| deleted user 14.08.2004 12:40 |
Oh no... Why are they wasting the space on disc 2 by putting a piece of the tokyo 82 concert on it? We want more "previously-unseen" material! Not stuff already released. I mean, they have all european Hot Space tour concerts recorded on film!!! And they still re-release old "already-seen" stuff... Why?! |
| Penis - Vagina 14.08.2004 13:31 |
Hmm, digitally remastered 12" mixes of Staying Power & Back Chat as menu music perhaps. I come up with the coolest ideas. |
| Jeeves 14.08.2004 13:40 |
You know, its a shame that there isn't a 'focus panel' for fans - that way everyone could get a say in what's released - as if! One of the things I like about this new format is that we get to have things that maybe the less ardent fans amongst us haven't got. Its all well and good being an avid collector, but I wouldn't have the time to look at or listen to, it all. I'm juts thankful that stuff is getting released. J |
| agneepath! 11994 14.08.2004 14:02 |
I agree with Impromptu about the absence of Queen Cam. It was one of the best special features on the Wembley 86 DVD. Why do you think it was left out on MK DVD? (assuming all the details are correct!) |
| Wayne Gretzky 14.08.2004 16:42 |
"Why do you think it was left out on MK DVD?" Don't know, I only hope that site missed it. |
| Adam Baboolal 14.08.2004 17:33 |
What if there were a limited amount of cameras? And they also didn't train them on a member each? Who knows... Peace, Adam. |
| pat 14.08.2004 19:40 |
Thank god the full show will finally be released and not edited !!!! But i'm not pleased with disc 2 giving us footage of the gigs we have already seen. yeah, I wish they would have put different songs from the tokyo 1982 concert!!! |

"A very stupid question: Where is Milton Keynes? I've never heard about this city" No, its a good question. Here is a link to a map of MK - use the zoom out option! link Milton Keynes is in Buckinghamshire. The reason why the DVD is called "on fire at the Bowl" is because no one outside England has heard of Milton Keynes. MK has had a reputation of being a dump... not sure if thats still the case though. |
| Brimon 14.08.2004 21:15 |
I know Wimbledon football club play there now. I used to have a penpal who went to that show and she said that it was possibly the worst venue that they could have chosen. |
| rhapsody__87 15.08.2004 01:26 |
"I used to have a penpal who went to that show and she said that it was possibly the worst venue that they could have chosen." Why?? |
| Brimon 15.08.2004 06:23 |
I think she thought the sound quality at the bowl wasnt the best, and as HeMaToSe says Milton Keynes was thought of at the time to be horrible place. |
| Voice of Reason 2018 16.08.2004 08:10 |
Milton Keynes? It's about 25 miles from here. Always happy to help, The Voice. |
