Teenagers on Queenzone
| fat-bottomed girl 08.08.2004 03:10 |
Hey- I was just reading a topic from a while ago. and realised that there really are tons of teenagers on Queenzone. This is wonderful!!! I thought I was the only wierd 18 year-old out there who even knew who queen were! I feel so encouraged! who else of you guys are teens? |
| Gunpowder Gelatine 08.08.2004 03:17 |
I'm a teenager, and I love Queen. Before I was introduced to Queen, I really didn't care that much about music, but now, it's a huge part of my life. Because of Queen, I've discovered so many other bands and realized just how great music was then. |
| VmS 08.08.2004 04:35 |
I'm a teenager, but I don't feel like an oddity amongst my friends. Many of them have given up, in a way, on music of today, and so a lot of us listen to older music. Queen are very popular in England among the younger generation (it might be because of the musical, I don't know, although I know a lot of people on here are not fond of the musical themselves.) |

I've been a Queen fan forever.... but I'm 13... I'll be 14 in 5 days though. |
| dragonzflame 08.08.2004 19:15 |
I'm 19 but since I'm not at school anymore I'm actually encouraged to try and be a little different. At school some people did think I was weird but I enjoyed it. I gave up on being upset about people looking askance at me because I didn't fit with their ideals a long time ago. |

I'm 16, and I love Queen. I am glad there are so many other young people besides myself that are out there and enjoy and adore Queen as much as I do. In my school I am the only Queen fanatic I know of, so coming here is quite refreshing. |
| Nuno_Gomes 08.08.2004 22:39 |

I am a 17 year old single male seeking a female who enjoys long walks on the beach and candlelight dinners. So if you like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain, write to me and we'll do that escaping thing I've heard so much about. ...wait, what was this thread about? |
| The Man On The Prowl 09.08.2004 09:54 |
This is my last month as a teenager because on August 26 I turn 20. Time flies!!! Btw, I am not the only one who likes Queen. Without considering e-friends and queenzoners, I have at least 10 / 15 friends near my area who regularly listen or play Queen songs. Some are even younger than me, and anyway noone was born before the 80s. Unfortunately just two of them are girls. Anyway I have many other friends who do not dislike to listen occasionally to Queen songs. |
| queen_forever_87 09.08.2004 12:41 |
hey everybody... I'm a teenage Queen fan too...and like lots of you guys, also because of my dad... I'm a 17 year old girl and I started to like queen because I had a tape with some time left.. so my dad put in Nevermore.. I liked that so much that I listened to the whole cd and after that the rest of the cd's.... then I was a fan... now I'm a bigger fan than my dad... very funny.... How did you guys become a fan?? |
| pleasineve 09.08.2004 13:15 |
wowwie now i feel old with my 22 years of age haha but it's cool that there are many young queen fans around while queen isn't around anymore |
| geeksandgeeks 09.08.2004 13:16 |
*raises hand* Fourteen here. Been a Queen fan since I was ten. There are more of we dumbass teenagers around here than one might think :) |
| queen_forever_87 09.08.2004 13:26 |
You're absolutely right, I thought I was the only one... but there are a lot of us... At school they think I'm weird... because I like Queen and not the stupid music of today...of course there are songs I like but mostly it's just crap... But Queen Rocks.... FOREVER!!! |
| Music Man 09.08.2004 14:50 |
queen_forever_87 wrote: How did you guys become a fan??Oh, mostly because of girls like you. It helps to be in a sort of esoteric group in these situations. I'm kidding, of course, but basically I liked most of the mainstream Queen stuff so I bought Live Killers. I decided I wanted the studio recordings, so I then bought Greatest Hits I and II. I found the albums the songs I liked were cluttered in and discovered that the non-mainstream music was really quite good and comparable with the Queen everybody else knows. Thus my collecting spree began and concluded with my possession of all the albums and comps. |

| inu-liger 10.08.2004 05:06 |
I've been here since at *least* 2000, right about when I was 13/14, so I'd have been a teen QZ'er from then until recently. But I'm one of the adult posters here now (technically anyways), as I'm 18 (and hating it - I wish I was 17 forever) |
| breanna902000 10.08.2004 09:10 |

| Mayboy 10.08.2004 14:44 |
Im 21 so i guess im passed the "teenage" stage Only in age though i assure u ;) |
| Pim Derks 10.08.2004 14:58 |
I've been on QZ since late 1999/2000 I think, meaning I was 14/15 back then. Been a fan since 1992/1993. Got Made In Heaven on the day of it's release and after that I've started collecting. Stopped the real collecting last year, but I still occasionally buy nice items :) |
| queen_forever_87 15.08.2004 07:09 |
Pim do you happen to be dutch?? You've got a dutch name, Pim Derks.... If you are...fun, I'm dutch too... :D |
| Pim Derks 15.08.2004 07:14 |
Yep, I'm Dutch. And No - no peace Caspar. You shouldn't have offered those "cd-r acetates" of Silver Salmon and other "rare promo editions" for sale. |
| queen_forever_87 18.08.2004 08:32 |
people...let's stick to the subject.... Are there any more teenagers around here??? Maybe I can make some new friends....:D Anyone has msn??? |

| RichardLopata 19.08.2004 03:33 |
Well I was 18 when I discovered QZ, but I'm twenty-four now, ... and still Dutch but who cares? hahaha |
| iGSM 19.08.2004 04:39 |
I'm 18 and liked Queen for 1-2 years and I'm loving it. I don't neccessarily like being different but I'm usually a prat and I'm good at embarrassing myself in public. Saying that I'm going out in my torn-at-the-knee jeans, Dunlop Volleys and a helicopter. |
| queen_forever_87 19.08.2004 09:12 |
srry I'm not around here for so long...thnx for the tip about the profile...I didn't know that yet.....:D |

I'm 14 next month. |
| brianburnsdavid 21.08.2004 11:34 |
I'm 16, becoming 17 the 27th of september. I'm queenfan for about 6-7 years now, started with bicycle race (no, not beacause of the video). I'm the only one in my class who loves queen, the rest likes wwr and watc, and maybe some other hits/classics and some others of the rest hates it. But on my school are there also some others who do like Queen, and Pink Floyd, and Yes and so on, really cool. But really popular, no, but I live in the Netherlands, not in the UK. That makes a differens(Gram.?). But I'm quite a big Queen fan. |
| SergeantPepperDG 21.08.2004 11:35 |
I've only been a fan of Queen for 2 months! |
| don't_stop_me_now 9697 22.08.2004 11:43 |
I´m 17. Two years ago, I wanted to download some songs. I got WATC and the computer sugested some other Queen songs. And then it went on and on.... Now is Queen not music to me, it´s lifestyle. |
| VGB 22.08.2004 20:14 |
I'll be 19 next week, I' have been listening to Queen since I was about 9 or 10. |
| deleted user 22.08.2004 21:06 |
Better post quick because I turn 20 next month! LOL... |
| Sonja 22.08.2004 22:11 |
Not a teenager anymore but with 23 not really grown-up yet...at least not in my head. And I still get funny looks from my college mates when I tell them that I like Queen. In fact, none of my friends or the people around me like Queen except for one 29 year old friend. But those who are younger than me just don't get it and that's why I think it's pretty cool that there are so many young Queen fans..(outside of Germany, as it seems) Got into Queen when I was 10 and I was laughed at when I showed up with a Freddie Mercury t-shirt at school when I was 11 or 12. Ah, well... |
| syncursor 23.08.2004 03:46 |
I think it's really great there are some younger Queen fans! I salute you all :) |
| brianburnsdavid 23.08.2004 14:15 |
Wich song is Watc? Is there a list with all the Queen shortcuts? |
| queen_forever_87 24.08.2004 07:29 |
WATC is we are the champions... you'll get used to the shortcuts when everybody uses them.... I got used to it in 2 days ;) But is someone has a list... send it!! Always helps ;) |
| FeefTheHippy 24.08.2004 10:16 |
I thought I was one of the youngest here, guess not. I'm 18 (19 on August 30) |
| deleted user 24.08.2004 10:17 |
I'm 18 also. |
| queen_forever_87 25.08.2004 14:07 |
I'm 17.... but I think I've mentioned that before.... |
| Monte: Liquorice Years 26.08.2004 04:22 |
yeah im 15 (ah, still young, and going strong!) i love queen! they are fantastic!!! before i had even heard of Queen. music was an unimportant matter in my life (to the disappointment of my uncle) but after i heard some Queen song, i not only feel in love with them, i also experimented with other 60s/70s/80s music, such as AC/DC, The Who, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple among my favourites. i think classic rock is much better them this 'modern day rock', though i do admit, i don't mind a bit of Radiohead now and then. |
| lady lisa 26.08.2004 09:10 |
I'm 18 years old, a Queenfan for 9 years now, and none of my friends think it's weird that i like them. In fact no-one i've met so far has said that they find it weird. |
| iGSM 26.08.2004 09:19 |
I'd rather be 19.. that way I could complain that it was my last year of being a teenager and that back in my day we used to bash building with wrenches, not those fancy-dancy belts! But 18's good. Makes me able to say 'Hell yeah, smoking, voting, marraige, driving and stuff..they're mega tough and barley sugar!' Stuff like that. But then again, I'm stupid. |
| Albyboy 26.08.2004 11:14 |
Oh my God, all teenagers!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Has my generation disappeared? Have all those nice twenty-something people been swallowed by black holes (NO irony, I've already understood what I've just written)? I was joking... I'm happy that younger people still have respect of the traditions... It's good for me to know you all love classic rock!!! And I have to say that, in relation to what there is on the radio, I wouldn't have said... Luckily, I was wrong Keep on rockin' Albyboy (grandpa) |
| ~Fat~Bottomed~Girl~ 26.08.2004 11:36 |
Omg, there are so many people my age here! I'm 15 n most of my friends don't wanna know me cos ive just recently got obsessed with Queen... Anyway, has anyone here read Freddie Mercury's biography by Peter Freestone? It's amazin, it's made me totally love Freddie; I actually cried at the end! Of course that's probably just me bein pathetic... |
| queen_forever_87 26.08.2004 13:15 |
hey I don't think that's pathetic... I've been crying in the end too... it's sad...especially when you know the whole story.... |
| Albyboy 26.08.2004 13:23 |
What's wrong with crying? If something moves you, why shouldn't you do that? It's not pathetic!!! About your friends: hold on some more time and then you'll see who will be the lonely ones... Original thinkers have always to deal with such problems, but in the end they are always successful!!! Ciao Albyboy |
| queen_forever_87 26.08.2004 13:27 |
Your absolutely right, by the way.... real true friends would accept you the way you are...and even if they do not agree with you, they should be nice to you... I've got friends like that... they don't agree with me... but they accept and are nice to me...even when I can't stop talking about Queen... Real friends support you...no matter what... |

You're right about that one... I've been wrong once or twice before.... but now I've found two real friends that I can trust and tell anything, and they'll do anything for me too |

| BrianHMay 30.08.2004 08:22 |
I'm 20 and I've been listening to Queen since I was 9 or 10, at school many people knew me because of my Queen bag and they used to call me Brian if they didn't know my name :) |
| Music Man 30.08.2004 13:33 |
I was listening to just Jazz and just Innuendo just the other day. |
| Zander05 30.08.2004 20:58 |
I'll be 18 in December. You think it's weird being a Queen fan now?! Try being 10 and saying you liked Queen when the world was controlled by The Spice Girls! |
