Mine has to be GA GA,Ive just been to see them again tonight for the 4th time and i have to say they are really good,
So come on who's your faves? or do you think there shouldnt be tribute bands, whats your opinions?
I saw QE2 a few years back, they were good but they dressed up as Queen, that makes me cringe. I saw a band called Magic too around 96/97, they were superb....they even did the middle of Bo Rhap on stage live!!! And it sounded superb, only the 5 of them singing.
I've only seen one tribute band - Magic - a kind of Queen. They come to my town every year and since this is probably the closest I'll come to listenin a Queen concert - I attend every year.
They are superb. Good set list (not simply Magic tour) "unusual" songs include, Innuendo, Barcelona, Flash, Bicycle Race, Driven By You, amongst others.
The one thing that stands out are their harmonies - their intro to STL sent a shiver down my spine. The lead singer is a good showman and their version of a complete Bo Rhap is excellent.
I realise that tribute bands are not everyone's cup of tea... but these are my thoughts.
I've seen Magic, Ga Ga, Killer Queen, Mercury and some buggers at Blackpool last year who had an orchestra with them.
Strange really cos I was plastered at all but the gig where I can't remember the bands name. Booze does help your memory.
Killer Queen were the best by the way.
