Just a thought but how do you think the music of today would be if Freddie was still here? would Queen still be producing and would rap and dance have taken off?
Freddie would've worn a band aid on his cheek and would've been shot in 2002, outside a club where he just performed his latest single "All Ya Fags In Da House". He died 2 hours later in the hospitar
'would Queen still be producing and would rap and dance have taken off?'
I'm sorry but this is the kind of thing that really annoys some people on here.
Please stop and think of an answer for yourself. Do you really think there would be no rap or dance music had Freddie lived?
Did Freddie control the world's music output and the public's taste?
Sorry I'm on holiday and I've got a full wine rack, will stop ranting now.
had this one a little while back. we came to the conclusion that it would be even suckier than it is now (hard i know) cos queen opened so many doors.

<Rock still would be listened by the most people, some artists like Britney Spears NEVER would be famous(it would be really good!) and some great rock bands would born and become really famous.>
I think it's very unlikely that Queen would in any way have prevented Britney Spears from becoming successful. Two completely different markets.
<Any artist that want to be famous and rich would have to record albuns with 10, 12, 13 GREAT songs, like Queen always have done, not one or two hits and 10 stupid tracks only to fill the disc like lots of artists have done...>
How's that ? Dull pop records with fillers have existed before Queen, they have existed whilst Queen were there and they still exist.
As already mentioned, Queen don't really influence music trends in any explicit way. They tended to go against the grain and survive in spite of the trends in music.
They would definitely still be recording IMO. Judging from Innuendo and the new material on MIH, they were far from a spent force and would have still been doing well. Radio One is very different now from 1991, but the breakfast show (Simon Mayo I think was doing it then) played Innuendo (the single) twice back to back on the day it was released. How many other artists have had the premier radio show do that? It shows they were still making people stand up and take notice!
I believe they'd also still be touring. I think that the reason Fred didn't want to tour was purely because he knew he was ill and that he just couldn't do it. or that it would shorten the time he had. And if you look at the kind of tours which were done in the 90s and today by the likes of Dire Straits and the Stones, can you imagine what Queen would have been able to achieve?
And think about the Waynes World exposure. They'd have stormed the US again I think.
Such a shame really. We (the band, the fans and the world!) lost out on a lot when Fred died
I imagine the actual world with Freddie singing Rap music... Why not? If they played with synth in early 80's and dance music with Hot Space, why don't they could do rap if it's the fashion nowadays?
And remember they invented rap with Another One Bite the Dust! ;)
Seriously now, didn't Freddie sing in a "rap style" in Stone Cold Crazy back in 1974?
