What do you think Queen's best epic song is? Bohemian Rhapsody, The Prophet's Song, March Of The Black Queen, Innuendo...? |
queenrocks! 10902 23.07.2004 13:42 |
Bohemian Rhapsody the best song ever made! |
Penis - Vagina 23.07.2004 14:16 |
I'm not sure. Queen were on Elektra, EMI, Capitol, Hollywood.. not seen any on Epic, though Freddie's first solo album comes close, since it was on Columbia. Oh, now I get it.. epic.. okay, I'd say 'The Prophets Song' for sure. Whilst I've never been fond of the 'now I know' painful voice segment, it's still a kick-ass song and very well arranged and constructed. |
agneepath! 11994 23.07.2004 14:55 |
Prophets song - without a shadow of doubt. If you don't believe me listen to it in DVD-A. |
BornToBeKings 23.07.2004 15:04 |
It's not very heavy, but Somebody to Love definitely has an awesome pseudo-gospel epic sweep to it. |
AndresGuazzelli 23.07.2004 15:48 |
Tie between Fairy Feller's, Fairy King and Propeth's song. What about Was It All Worth It? |
lottie88 23.07.2004 18:57 |
Hmmmm... I think Bohemian Rhapsody would take the crown for this one |
Simmer 23.07.2004 19:38 |
The Prophet's Song is the most epic one I think. |

Yeah, The Prophet's Song is well liked. On the dvd-a - It's just a shame they didn't find the original tapes for that "Now I know..." sequence, because it would've sounded truly great. But they did a pretty good job, considering, huh? It's also good fun to hook up a mic and delay box to sing that part! Ah... I also have a huge love for Was It All Worth It. Underated? Epic? I dunno! Peace, Adam. |
killerqueen259 24.07.2004 03:16 |
Bohemian Rhapsody is the best ever |
Gunpowder Gelatine 24.07.2004 03:41 |
Where's the love for March Of The Black Queen? Without this song, there probably wouldn't have been a Bohemian Rhapsody! |
Farlander 24.07.2004 03:58 |
March of the Black Queen. Happy? ;) Seriously, though, that's my vote. |
The Black Queen 24.07.2004 04:56 |
MOTBQ and Liar. |
Daburcor? 24.07.2004 06:23 |
Innuendo anyone? ;) |

All of them gave him the knowledge to compose that one. And yes, I do vote for Bo Rhap |
KC1957 24.07.2004 10:12 |
I have to go with MOTBQ, but I must say, everyone has some great points |
Hugo Geurdes 24.07.2004 11:36 |
Cleary Motbq.......best lyrics ever, most complex of all queen songs and most varied....yes much more varied than bohrhap |

Simmer 24.07.2004 18:57 |
I didn't say The Prophet's Song is better than BR & MOTBQ. It's just more epic than those two songs... just the feeling of it. |
crowley 25.07.2004 12:18 |
Well, it's not such an epic song, but "White Queen" is thrilling me. lso "Show Must Go On" (it's evem nore epic and because of a topic and circumstances of its creation it's more powerful than any other song of Queen). This is my first post on this message board, greetings! |
jasen101 25.07.2004 13:16 |
I would have to say "Innuendo" for sure. |
kingogre 25.07.2004 19:39 |
My choice would be Ogre battle. Prophet song is also a killer. But then again bohemian rhapsody is the best song ever. So I guess the answer is one of them cause thinking about it right now I cant make up my mind |
lovequeen 26.07.2004 08:58 |
I'll go for the March of the Black Queen as it used to be my favourite song for ages, even though I love The Prophet's Song and Innuendo just as well. And someone mentioned White Queen, I think the live version from Hammersmith Odeon 1975 (I think) comes very close too, it's the most beautiful live version of any song I've ever heard! |
Queen_Bee_16 26.07.2004 09:00 |
i think the prophet's song should take this cake. |
KillerQueen840 26.07.2004 09:42 |
Close call, either, "My Fairy King (I think that Roger's high-pitch-like-scream in the begining is sooooooo sexy)," "March of the Black Queen," or "The Prophets Song." |
satchmoeluvsqueen 29.07.2004 02:01 |
Anyone see the April 2004 issue of MOJO magazine? They had the Top 100 Epic songs list of all time-Bohemian Rhapsody taking number one. No other Queen song made it in to the list (which i object to!) unless you count Freddie Mercury and Monsterrat Cabelle with Barcelona, that was number 48. |
lovequeen 29.07.2004 06:02 |
Yeah, I've got that MOJO, but somehow I missed Freddie and Montserrat's duet being listed.. I guess I didn't bother to read the list so througoutly as I assumed (and was right) that Queen would be in the top position anyway.. |
♥Killer_Queen1946♥ 29.07.2004 21:50 |
I love all of Queens songs. And albums. I mostly like the 70's stuff, but I dont mind the 80's either. Hmm.....the best epic song? well, maybe Bohemian Rhapsody. or Killer Queen. Or the prophets song. Argh! I just cant choose! ta-ta |
QueenJazz78 19.03.2005 19:42 |
THE BEST SONG EVER....ITS HARD TO CHOOSE, TO MANY GOOD ONES, UM I WOULD HAVE TO GO WITH.....IT'S LATE!!! |
maxpower 19.03.2005 22:01 |
It's Late |
Roy Queen 20.03.2005 09:01 |
My Fairy King is my favorite of these types of songs, but The Fairy Fellows Master Stroke, The March Of The Black Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody comes close! |
doremi 20.03.2005 18:17 |
Innuendo for sheer epic sweep, depth, meaning, how very, very far Queen had progressed and matured as storyteller songwriters and musicians, with a deep, signnificant message...about intolerance, war, fear, bigotry...and the need for tolerance, peace, etc. BoRhap for defining Queen literally through the ages of music and popular culture, and making their ultimate timeless music statement to the world as their signature anthem. |
My Melancholy Blues 21.03.2005 00:59 |
Hmm...the best epic song...ok, my choices would be Bohemian Rhapsody, Innuendo, Prophet's Song, The March Of The Black Queen and so... Bohemian Rhapsody is the best epic song ever. |
robbosmith 21.03.2005 17:54 |
bo rhap for sure - just need to learn to spell it |
dave2005 21.03.2005 19:21 |
Bohemian Rhapsody :) |
BikerBoy 12.10.2005 19:33 |
Gotta say i love seven seas of rye. nobody ever mentions that one. The prophets song has so much feel to it. Save me is very passionate. gotta give it to the prophets song :) |
inthelapofthegods 12.10.2005 20:32 |
My Fairy King March Of The Black Queen Liar anddddddddddddddd maybe Innuendo....if i was pressed |
deleted user 12.10.2005 20:41 |
innuendo and bohemian rhapsody are tied for me |
dimcyril 14.10.2005 08:33 |
princes of the universe is pretty epic too and pretty good |
spymyshadow 14.10.2005 08:43 |
this is a really though question as they have written epic songs for any kind of epic meaning available. of course bo rhap, but also who wants to live forever, why not it'a hard life? because it gives a touch of epic tone even to trivial things as being abandoned by your lover. |
Suigi 14.10.2005 11:16 |
I'd go with a quartet of tunes. Innuendo for its message BoRhap for its popularity The Ogre Battle Saga for its breadth and fantasy (I count from Ogre Battle to Funny How Love Is as one tune) and finally, just to be different, I'd go with Liar. It's their earliest epic, and I think an underrated tune in general. They still played it during their live stuff up until 85/86. |
