I really don't know...I mean, he named his band "Queen", in interwievs he always said he love Queen...so what the hell Paul Mcartney had that Freddie hadn't???What do you think about that?
Paul McCartney got knighted in '97, but that's probably because The Beatles were such a huge influence on British music. Not to say that Queen weren't, but The Beatles were really pioneers in what they acheived.
Because Freddie died in 1991. 'Cool Britannia' didn't start till Labour came into power in 1997 and trendy people were knighted instead of Senior Civil Servants and Tory backbenchers who move to the Lords.
It still remains a complete mystery why Mick Jagger was knighted and even more he accepted it.
Haven't been offered it yet but I would dare say Roger and Brian will eventually be knighted due to their influence in music and aid to charities. Somethin' like that.
In fact Fred wasn't born in the UK, so it counted. And if they ever would have knighted one of the queennies, it would be him. Because he wrote the most succesful hits, for a start. Also because he's the most famous band member. Like Mick Jagger or Paul. John Lennon would probably be a sir if he was still alive too
