Okay, the other thread was great, now here's a new bend to it:
How many of you have the reissued, US Hollywood Records version? I haven't seen anything at all except it was released in 2001. Here's the only description I could find, and it's on Spun.com:

I'm on the "Notify Me" list, so far nothing to date.
Here's something from Amazon.com -- someone offering it for $99.99 in this format only:
Comments: Rare MP3 CD from germany including all songs from boxed set on one disc. Plus, full Full great pretender, mr. bad guy, and barcelona CDs, plus Living on my Own CD single.
(Brazen, huh?)
Hollywood Records website only has a picture of the boxset and a release date. I can't access any email address for them to ask about it.
Can anyone help with this? MANY thanks!!
Still waiting on a return call from Hollywood Records confirming that!
Here's something I found on Gemm.com -- it will surprise a lot of people, I certainly WAS!!

More info? Visit their website, link. They have a lot of Freddie/Queen items!
1) I see NOTHING surprising.
2) GEMM, as MusicStack, is a selling agency rather than a proper store. Their catalogs -as most collectors know- are perpetually outdated and generally not to trust.
Good news, I got a callback from HR!!!
It's official -- the Solo Collection boxset was actually in the works but never released in the States. Not surprising, but glad to finally get the goods on this!
(Thanks Wilki!)
People might tell you to buy it, because everything else could be just seen as rip-off and being a leech. But however, think about it. It's a great item to have, I can say. The book itself is wonderful already. Yes, you can find a few mistakes in the text and typos. But the amount of pictures plus the CDs and DVDs...all that is definitely worth it.

Try searching on ebay or something like that, you could find it over there for about € 75,00
It is definately worth it !!
I just got it from Ebay. It was 62 Pounds ($109 US dollars)
Hey at least I didn't buy it for the asking price $235.
Not to mention, it was still sealed.
Keep looking, you'll find it for a reasonable price.

You're a 'big fan', but you're not willing to save for it (I was 14 when I bought it, saved for it for a year), nor are you intelligent enough to realize that compressing the stuff to MP3-audio will ruin the quality.
Oh dear. OK, genius, how are you going to fit 10 CDs onto one WITHOUT lowering the bitrate?
Also, getting 2 DVDs onto one disc without lowering sound or picture quality?
Share your intelligence with us, oh wise one...
Compressing 2 DVD videos would be pointless (and not significantly reduce the overall cost). Compressing 10 audio CDs would be worthwhile and not ruin the quality as most people can't tell the difference between CD quality and Mp3 even at a lower bitrate (you only have to look at the popularity of ipods). You could even compress the contents of the 10 CDs at quite a high bitrate and put them onto DVD audio discs.

He must be using an old Jedi mind trick.
