this is all within the next few months, so on fire at the bowl doesn't count...sorry if this is boring but you're all welcome to join in...i think maybe listing the stuff makes me feel better or something Jewels DVD Final Live Japan DVD Karaoke Hits DVD All the japanese mini-LP remasters Flash-Innuendo (since i'm limited on money I really only NEED the 81-91 ones to hear the remastered sound since I already have the Crown Jewels box, I know the japanese ones are much better in quality design wise, but i'm trying to be economic!...okay maybe I can skip Flash) ;-) new US greatest hits We Will Rock You vegas ticket platinum collection box (yes I still don't have this) new copies of: Live Magic, Queen Symphony (the older on from 92), Greatest Hits (i wore these out as a young-en I realized I need new ones....) bootlegs spree! 5 for price of 4!: royal rarietes vol.2, complete BBC sessions, dundee '75, RT-Nagoya '94, copenhagen '78,god i hate to love that site... in reality..prolly only gonna get about 2 of those things inbetween now and the time "on fire at the bowl" comes out |

You remind me of me. I started buying the card sleeves in reverse order because I had Crown Jewels. Only three more to go: 1, II and SHA and maybe long down the road, the 2nd version of MIH though the blue cover is the inside gatefold of the orange one anyway, so it seems silly to buy both. I still need The Game & Flash Gordon - Hollywood versions, to complete that collection. And replacement copies of Hollywood's Innuendo & MIH cuz they're getting rather old. Need to get 'The Eye' sometime if I get lucky. Looking to find 'Becoming Queen' DVD in stock somewhere. Just got 'Magic Moments' the other day and enjoyed it a lot. Got the Karaoke Hits DVD in the process of shipping right now, so that'll be here soon. Not getting the CD version since it's copy protected and I have the original. And of course I'll get Greatest Hits: We Will Rock You soon as it comes out and the same for On Fire. And a few CD singles I'd like to have for unique b-sides but that's all I think :) |

I liked Becoming Queen a lot better than Magic Moments. The annoying background music drowns out the people being interviewed and is quite distracting! (There are a few segments that are in Becoming Queen too.) |

Strike Hollywood's 'The Game' from my list. Just got it with my Best Buy gift card. For my listening copy, I added a cleaned-up vinyl version (which sounds fab!) plus the instrumental of Annie Crummer's AOBTD which is awesome I must say. 2 full versions of 'The Game' plus two bonus tracks, all on one CD. One advantage to a 35 minute album :-P No luck with 'Becoming Queen' though. I've got a region free, PAL-converting DVD player so no discs have been a problem yet, except anamorphic PAL discs display a little funny but I've hacked my TV to be able to quickly adjust picture size :-P |

Hey DF, if you want, I can burn you copies of those DVD-A's cheap each - only catch is, I can only copy the DVD-V portion, which has the PCM and DTS 96/24 tracks, as I don't know how to rip DVD-A portions :( (And even if I was able to burn both portions, I'd need a dual-layer DVD burner, so that's another reason I can only burn the PCM and DTS DVD-V portions, just so ya know) |

I was originally ordering it from there, along with Pat Benatar's 'Choice Cuts', and they were both available for next day shipping which sounded intriguing so I went for it.. then when I got to check-out it said 'Becoming Queen' was no longer guaranteed for next day, but there was the 'people also bought' thing with Magic Moments, which I thought was UK only.. so I replaced it with that. But yeah, I could get it there.. I was just hoping to find it in-store locally :) |

It has a blue spine and a "2001 DTS" copyright on the case. The Brian May mix has a black spine and a "Co-produced by Brian May for Queen" credit and a 2002 copyright (both are Hollywood Records releases). And the Scheiner mix was a six-channel remix! (Note Roy Thomas Baker produced this; the credits state "Produced by Roy Thomas Baker. Mixed by Elliot Scheiner". Small differences in mixes sometimes make a huge difference in sound...on different songs, that is! |

Lisa, you annoy me too! 1) Both ANATO releases are 6-channel mixes. (The '2/2.1' mix idea comes from Justin Shirley-Smith, who has nothing to do with these DVDs.) 2) The only difference you should check between them is the copyright date ON THE DVD-A itself (2002 is Brian's revisited version, while 2001 is the original mix). I know for sure that the first 2002 pressings were issued on 2001 packaging. By the way, a stand-alone version of the original 5.1 mix of The Prophet's Song can be found as a bonus track on the DEMONSTRATION DVD #6, a promotional sampler from DTS (DTS-6506014900). |

Hmm, Wilki, you just appeared on QZ and you get annoyed easily... Yes, the dates are different but then again so is the packaging. The disc on the Scheiner version is a deeper turquoise blue than the May version. May's version also has "NTSC" and a globe with "ALL" on the back cover of the DVD-A case. Same bar code. Music's entirely different, and it's fun to compare versions -- "whose is best?"; I like both of them! (I take it you've listened to both -- which do you prefer?) |
