GNR CD Release Date
"antiMUSIC reports: We’ve heard it before, but we now have a new release date announcement for the long awaited album “Chinese Democracy” from the Axl Rose fronted Guns N’ Roses. The Guns N’ Roses Behind the Music special which aired this weekend on VH1 stated that the album was set for a November 2004 release."

Ah, that is such bullshit. I saw the Behind The Music and you know what? Chinese Democracy has been slated for so many release dates that you can't believe any of it. I won't believe anything I hear until I see it on a store shelf and even then, I won't believe that I'm seeing it. And even when it's in my CD player, I won't really believe that I'm listening to it.
So the moral of the story is -- don't believe the hype. Or... just don't trust Axl Rose and Co.
I think we'll see the Queen rarities before Chinese Democracy. I thought Bucket Head left GnR? Anyway, Im seriously getting into Velvet Revolver at the min. Gnr without Axl!
LOL Dan well I could be dreaming a very realistic dream when I'm listening to it. Axl is such a moron. If he got his act together, this new version of GNR would play to sold-out stadiums and this so-called Chinese Democracy CD would've flown up the charts and stayed there. But he doesn't have anything together. It does not take ANYONE, except maybe Brian Wilson (who took 439089 years to relase that Smile CD), almost a decade to work on a new album.
Oh, how I long for the days of drunken Slash.
It would be nice to see the album finally come out, but Axl Rose has never exactly been known for his reliability. When (and if) it is finally released, my guess is that with all the hype it's either going to be an unparalleled musical masterpiece or a complete sock of crap. And in all honesty, it's more likely to be the latter. In the meantime, I happen to be enjoying Velvet Revolver, so I don't think I'll die of anticipation.
Sources close to the bands management (and apparently they still do have a management) say that there is no confirmed release date. Either VH1 was going on outdated information (or just making up stuff to get column inches for thier ropey documentary) or the Guns camp are trying to cover themselves (assuming that there really IS a Nov 2004 release planned) in case of more delays.
In the meantime, I'll just have to make do with seeing VR in Hammersmith on Spetember 2nd. Yeah man, they are real muthafuckin rockin rockers, man! OR something.
