According to Brian May official site (Brianmay.com) Brian and Roger told to american press that a new tour, the first in 18 years, will take place after Las Vegas opening!! «"A tour would be the next thing for us to do after the show opens. It has been awhile," Queen guitar player Brian May told VegasBeat during a recent conversation. Drummer Roger Taylor added that Mercury would not be replaced. "Brian and I are both vocalists as well. But we'd certainly have friends of ours join us onstage from time to time to sing. George Michael, Elton John, folks like that." Bass player John Deacon, who wrote such Queen classics as "Another One Bites The Dust," is "more into his privacy than public appearances" these days, May said. But both he and Taylor expressed hope that he'd join them for a limited tour.» These are the best news i saw in years!!1 |
Gunpowder Gelatine 06.07.2004 16:31 |
That's amazing! I want to go! |
Daburcor? 06.07.2004 16:32 |
What what?! If that were to happen, However good or bad it may be, I would HAVE to attend a show! Here's (kind of) hoping. |
Josuè 06.07.2004 16:35 |
I just can't believe it. I think the most exciting thing to me would be to see John live! :P |
The Black Queen 06.07.2004 16:41 |

My take on what was said is the WWRY musical will tour NOT QUEEN(RT/BM)!!!! Well that my interpretaion |
deleted user 06.07.2004 17:36 |
That's certainly not what this article wants us to believe. |
Flashman 06.07.2004 17:51 |
Let's not get too excited, folks. Brian has probably just been drinking again, that's all. Punch-up in the car park to follow, and it will all end in tears, as usual. |
Penetration_Guru 06.07.2004 18:09 |
Night jar has it - a touring production of the musical has been discussed, a "Queen" tour has not. It's really very simple. |
Adam Baboolal 06.07.2004 18:22 |
Wait a minute, wasn't this planned for last year with the WWRY show opening in Vegas? But they had to postpone it for some reason. Can't quite remember when I saw that, but it was from Brian himself. So they definitely planned it. And looks like it's time... Peace, Adam. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 06.07.2004 18:25 |
NightJar is correct. If you care to read the whole Rockline interview you'll certainly agree with us. Unfortunatelly, I must say. Cheers, Ogre- |
rhapsody__87 06.07.2004 18:27 |
I wouldn't believe it until we at least see dates and locations. |
Pim Derks 06.07.2004 18:35 |
I'll believe it when I'm at the actual venue where they are supposed to appear and they actually walk on stage and do a bit more stuff than the usual RGG/TYMD/WWRY setlist. |
deleted user 06.07.2004 19:01 |
I know that a touring production of the musical is planned and it was the first thing that came into my mind, but the above article is clearly talking about something else. Brian's quote can be read both ways, but Roger referring to themselves as vocalists and mentioning George Michael and Elton John is clearly something else, so is the talk about John Deacon. Not that I'd believe it... |
akindofmagic 06.07.2004 19:26 |
YEp... i first thought about the WWRY musical Tour.. but they talk about Roger and Brian singing, with help of some friends(GM, Elton),and bringing John deacon back to the band. I think those subjects are not refering to the musical. |
inu-liger 06.07.2004 19:35 |
IMO Queen are as likely to go on tour as the Pokemon cast covering "Bohemian Rhapsody" |
Whatinthewhatthe? 06.07.2004 19:39 |
Here we go again...Queen +++++. Promise of a tour, a new album. We all want to believe... |

Hey, if they go on tour, maybe Brian will ask you, BD, to do a promotional tour poster drawing just like the drawing you did for Brian ;) |

*daydreams* |
Penis - Vagina 06.07.2004 22:22 |
LOL. That quote about them having friends sing with them was in the past tense, about them having previously worked with Elton, Robbie, etc. I believe it was in response to the question from INXS about replacing lead singers. How this got twisted into a quote about a fictional new tour is anybody's guess. |
Josuè 07.07.2004 02:48 |
It's always the same... I think that Brian and Roger exposed her intentions of touring, but that's it. And, I think that if they're really gonna tour, they should make an album. Good luck with the paint, Dan ;) |
The Mir@cle 07.07.2004 03:12 |
Hey, if Roger say that they gonna tour and Brian publish it on his website, why would it be a fairytale? I think they really gonna tour and I'm very exciting about it. I hope John will join for a couple of concerts. |
Little_Queenie 07.07.2004 03:49 |
I wish:(((( Would die to see them live... |
akan 07.07.2004 05:02 |
people!this is the greatest new in 1 year!i hope they will tour un europe also, one concert at least |
Penis - Vagina 07.07.2004 05:16 |
Brian's site publishes snippets of things which have appeared in print or other media. I believe this was some sort of newspaper in Vegas. It sounds to me like this paper has twisted around things that Bri & Rog said in the Rockline interview. Brian may see this himself and decide to react to it either to confirm or deny or perhaps give us one of those "It's been talked about but nothing is in stone" I've seen him react to things after the fact before.. I don't believe he requires everything posted on the site to meet his pre-approval. |
Dicky Hart 07.07.2004 05:29 |
when i have my ticket in my hand and both of the lads are standing in front of me on a stage, then i will believe it. |
frejorobri 07.07.2004 06:20 |
This would be great. I would love to go to atleast one concert, and maybe get the chance to get their autographs. |

with brian's comments its simple: expect nothing: so if they dont tour you wont be disappointed but if they do - it'll be a pleasant surprise! |
Penis - Vagina 07.07.2004 13:14 |
Well, as I predicted, here's the word from Brian: **Wed 07 Jul 04** VEGAS BEAT STORY I don't think any of these "Quotes" are in any way genuine. No, a tour will NOT be the next thing for Queen after Vegas. The 46664 concert in Benidorm will be next, and then the openings of WWRY in Moscow and Cologne. You can take this as definite. Love Bri link Kind of what I said :) Oh, and my sincere apologies to Brian for not getting permission to reprint this quote. |

jericho05 07.07.2004 18:29 |
I've always been an avid fan and was lucky enough to see the boys at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1982... however while a tour might be nice as nostalgia... without Freddie they would have to call it something else. It would be awesome to see them together in some incarnation but even without Brians denial statement I just doubt it would ever happen. |
high-flying-adored 07.07.2004 21:15 |
That sucks. How I wish it weren't true ... damn, I was born in the wrong decade. But then, I suppose life shall continue as normal. |
rhapsody__87 07.07.2004 22:54 |
Why would any of you ever believe it?? They won't go on tour any time soon anyway because they have too much going on -- the musicals, the DVD... you can't believe rumours (hello, high school!). The only way to truly believe something is either when you have it or when you see it. |
akindofmagic 07.07.2004 23:21 |
WEll.. brian told that «it will not be the next thing Queen will do right after Vegas opening» But he didn't say that it won't happen in a near future! |
Brian_Mays_Wig 08.07.2004 06:37 |
Id pay all my money just to see John perform live again, But I cant see it happening. we all live in hope. |

Sorry to burst your bubbles but Brian has denied the tour story on his website: "I don't think any of these "Quotes" are in any way genuine. Want To Live Forever 09.07.2004 11:18 |
Of course Brian is talking about Queen on tour (Q+) because he's talking about other folks to join, Elton John, George Michael... IMO if they tour without Deacon, they shouldn't be called Queen, because it's only the half of it. That should be called "Queen friends Tour" or "May + Taylor". Remember Page & Plant? They didn't tour as Led Zeppelin, and it was like a zep concert. i hope they would go on tour as Queen WITH John and a few guests and call it "Queen +" again. What could Freddie say about all this? |
Whatinthewhatthe? 10.07.2004 10:31 |
After the Vegas show, Brian and Roger will be...tired!! And in need of a lengthy vacation, for sure, before it's off to conquer the next country! |
The Mir@cle 12.08.2005 08:28 |
I just read this topic... It's more than a year old. We thought they would never be on stage again, and look what happened... |
FriedChicken 12.08.2005 09:07 |
Another funny thing. Me and Pim were talking about a Queen tour in the spring of 2005. That was just a few weeks before they hooked up with Paul Rodgers to play that one off show. That was in November I believe. We even made picture a tourposter on a wall which said Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen live in Ahoy, Rotterdam June 2nd. Sweet uh |
