I think it would be boring and rock music would be crap until The Darkness came along. |
The Fairy King 03.07.2004 12:25 |
I don't think there would be The Darkness, if there were no Queen in the world. :P |
Pim Derks 03.07.2004 12:29 |
We wouldn't know, because we wouldn't miss Queen. |
Little_Queenie 03.07.2004 12:36 |
It would be incredibly boring, at least my world... Don't even wanna think about it. |
Daburcor? 03.07.2004 12:45 |
I am with Pim on this one. |
killerqueen259 03.07.2004 13:56 |
I agree that the music world would suck without Queen...and I also think that The Darkness would most likely not be here, because their music is very much Queen influenced |
Deaky's Middle Nut 03.07.2004 14:13 |
The Darkness are influenced far more musically by Thin Lizzy than Queen anyway. As far as being a showman, Justin is equal parts Freddie and Rob Halford, which I guess if you are going to copy off of frontmen, you could pick worse! |
The Fairy King 03.07.2004 14:33 |
Rob Halford sucks dude, seriously |
agneepath! 11994 03.07.2004 15:03 |
World without Queen eh? thats easy: "Imagine" would be repeatedly voted best single ever in the U.K. |
Gunpowder Gelatine 03.07.2004 15:05 |
I can't even imagine it. I wouldn't be listening to any of the music I listen to, because Queen got me into all the music I listen to. I'd probably still be listening to Top 40 crap... |
Deaky's Middle Nut 03.07.2004 15:05 |
Halford back in the Priest... link |

'The Darkness are influenced far more musically by Thin Lizzy than Queen anyway' How? Because Dan Hawkins wheres a Thin Lizzy shirt all the time. He might be but world without Queen = world without Darkness (as they are now anyway). Justin said it himself on a breakfast show called 'RI:SE' in the U.k. When asked who were you influenced by mainly and Justin said Queen and King (some 80's band). Don't know whether he was joking. But Ed (the drummer) was wearing a Queen t-shirt that day. And when the presenter said your wearing a Queen shirt aswell he just replied ye, i am. |
Deaky's Middle Nut 03.07.2004 16:32 |
Listen to the guitar solos. The double tracked solos are stolen DIRECTLY from them!! |
Lord Blackadder 03.07.2004 16:39 |
Good point actually. See I dont think about these things. I should try. But my other defense is they stole One Vision riff and if you wanna go further into it they stole the beggining of the STL guitar solo for Xmas time (which is the best xmas song ever, better than TGI xmas. soz!) |
Deaky's Middle Nut 03.07.2004 16:41 |
Especially Growing On Me, that riff is pure Lizzy. They are a pretty cool band, one of the best live shows that I have ever seen, and I have seen 'em all...... TGI X-Mas is the worst christmas song (save Mariah Carey) I think I have ever heard.... Bad bad bad bad bad |
RainMustFall 03.07.2004 17:33 |
The world would be three people smaller, plus the number of people who took the band's advice on Keep Yourself Alive and Don't Try Suicide. |
Whatinthewhatthe? 03.07.2004 17:37 |
Think if there had been no Killer Queen, no Bo Rhap...just dull soulless pop crap like Britney Spears and Justin Trousersnake. And...N'Sync... (ewwwwww, perish the thought!!) |
Sonia Doris 05.07.2004 12:34 |
somewhat different... I think I would be constantly depressed and angry. I wouldn't even conceive this situation. I would be a fan of something. In the worst case Britney...oooooooh! Thank God It's QUEEN! |
rhapsody__87 05.07.2004 12:43 |
Eeew! Why even BRING The Darkness into this? I know if I didn't have Queen I wouldn't've gotten into half the bands I listen to now -- ready for this chain? Queen -- I watched the FM Tribute Concert, became mesmerized by Slash and Axl and as a result, got VERY into GN'R. From getting into GN'R, I'm now a huge fan of Velvet Revolver which has led me to become a fan of Stone Temple Pilots. Thank you, Queen!! :-) |
high-flying-adored 05.07.2004 22:34 |
The world without Queen would be a very depressing place. But then, I agree that we wouldn't have a clue as to what the hell Queen was. So then we'd be stuck with this "smooth-jazz-elevator-freaking-music" world with nothing of interest in it. I figure we'd have to go back to the classics or put up with present-day pop crap. (Eww. Justin pee-hair Timberlake.) Scary existence. (Thank God for Queen.) |

My life would be nonexistant. Wait...my life is nonexistant anyway, Queen just exacerbated that. |
SergeantPepperDG 10.07.2004 14:14 |
I'd have to devote my whole musical obsession to the Beatles. (Which is what it was like about 3 weeks ago). |
Sonia Doris 14.07.2004 08:03 |
Britney+Justin+X-Tina+i donna what other "musicians" like that, taking over the whole music in the world. Hiuuuuuuu! That's a f***n' scary movie. |
FriedChicken 14.07.2004 08:12 |
the world wouldn't be any different honestly |

we'd be two crap cover singles, loads of shite adverts and plenty of seriously cheesy interviews less. hmmm, now i wonder whether i should have just stuck to the s club 7 fanbase... |
L-R-TIGER1994 15.07.2004 23:12 |
It would have been Queenless. |
Roger's Beard 16.07.2004 06:14 |
You are effectively already living in a world without Queen. Queen are no more. Freddie has gone. Music is now crap with nothing "new" to shine out of the darkness. What would the world be like if Queen were still here? We'd have had at least 4 new albums, a tour or two and the knowledge that they'd be working on something new right now. I miss Fred. I miss having something "new". I'm sure every other fan who were around when the band still existed as a working band also miss that. Yes, we still have their back catalogue, but the world does not now have Queen. That's why a boxset of demos and unheard songs is important to us. The chance to hear something "new". The chance to hear Freddies voice singing something we've never heard before... It's even been six long years since we had anything new from Brian & Roger (46664 doesn't count). The world is a sadder place for the loss. In the darkness there is a light behind you, but there are no torches to guide your way. Okay, so now you're all depressed, go and play one of the best songs ever written - "Too Much Love" (with Freddie singing it), and by the end of the song you'll all feel so much better and uplifted. When I bought MIH, I didn't listen to this song until it was forced upon me as a single. I needed to know that there was something out there that I'd never heard before, and the best way was to possess it but not hear it. When I heard the single, it was like a light shining out of the darkness. That feeling of hearing something new, even though it was only a few months after the album came out and I'd heard new stuff then. I need Queen. It's an addiction, and the only satisfaction of something "new" I get these days are the surround mixes - old songs yes, but new life, hearing things never before heard. Waiting , so waiting for the next one.... |
