John says hello
| Mr. Teatime 01.07.2004 20:56 |
Brian's soapbox: **Thu 01 Jun 04** ON OUR GUESTBOOK!! Name: John Deacon Country: England Date: Wed Jun 30 15:43:36 2004 Comment: I am still around, enjoying my retirement! I have many aspirations, but I rather enjoy my children, and sitting around, collecting cheques for doing nothing. |
| rhapsody__87 01.07.2004 20:58 |
I saw that! I don't think it's him... because honestly, anybody from England can write that! |
| Mr. Teatime 01.07.2004 21:05 |
Except it's on the news page, which means they've probably checked it's real, by looking at the IP and so on. |
| rhapsody__87 01.07.2004 21:26 |
However, do you think John would come right out and say he's collecting checks for doing nothing? I mean, of course he is but the message seemed kind of impersonal and rude. Maybe it's just me. |
| Whatinthewhatthe? 01.07.2004 21:49 |
That sounds exactly like something the calculating Deacy would do, at the end of a month...with nothing better to do than pray for lap dances in Las Vegas -- and free ones at that... |

I have many aspirations, but I rather enjoy my children, and sitting around, collecting cheques for doing nothing.Recently Brian May and Roger Taylor were interviewed by Rockline, North America's number one rock radio programme, and there was such question (the interview itself you can find in link - June news): MARK: Two quick questions for ya. One is - How's John? and number two - Did William Hung get permission to record "We Are The Champions"? Roger Taylor: John really is effectively retired. He's... I dunno - he likes to stay home and he approves of everything we're doing and we're all in agreement about that, but he really doesn't wanna go out and sort of meet people any more, so, and that's fine. We have a good agreement there, so HE JUST STAYS AT HOME AND WAITS FOR THE CHEQUE." So, maybe Jonh really have read it and decided to leave his funny note on guestbook. |
| Josuè 02.07.2004 02:31 |
I doubt it is John. |
| TheMiracle 02.07.2004 04:04 |
Hey it could always be him, eh eh! |
| Gunpowder Gelatine 02.07.2004 04:12 |
Yeah, it could be him! I remember reading on a website that said he lurks on message boards still! And I don't think brianmay.com would post it if it was just some random person. |

Drs. DAJA wrote: Could be, cause John's favorite drink is tea. But John wat's your favorite movie? ,if you give the right answer I believe you.Mr. Teatime is "QUOTING" John Deacon. |
| Josuè 02.07.2004 08:21 |
fool... |
| Mr. Scully 02.07.2004 09:25 |
C'mon! This is a very simple free guestbook on some free server, everybody can write a message with this name... IP check? First of all I very much doubt this guestbook logs IP's and also I pretty much doubt anybody knows John's IP address (Brian could know it from emails - if it's fixed - but I don't think he knows what IP address is). |
| Erin 02.07.2004 09:26 |
OMG..John actually POSTED here!!!! Oh WOW...this is GREAT!!! Hmm...yes. :-I |
| Sonia Doris 02.07.2004 09:29 |
HI from Romania. |
| Sonia Doris 02.07.2004 09:31 |
I'm an optimistic person, so I say it's him. Of course, I might as well be wrong... |
| Fenderek 02.07.2004 12:46 |
"Brian could know it from emails - if it's fixed - but I don't think he knows what IP address is" LOL- c'mon! he's got a web site...;) |
| Gunpowder Gelatine 02.07.2004 12:49 |
There are probably a lot of people that post, pretending to be members of the band. I don't think they'd put it on Brian's website if it wasn't true, but that's me being an optimist. :D |
| StarShine 02.07.2004 13:33 |
That's not John! John would never post on Brian's soapbox. That's shit. |
| queenrocks! 10902 02.07.2004 13:40 |
It could be Deaky because Brian knows John well so Brian would know if that was a stupid bastard trying to make us gullible. |
| geeksandgeeks 02.07.2004 21:03 |
Sure, and I'm the Dalai Lama. It sounds to me like a creative new way to bitch about the fact that John is not taking part in all the lovely musicals and sex drive commercials. And btw, Drs. DAJA, John's favorite movie is "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". Better ask for his kid's middle names or something. |

I remember reading something, I think in the Letters of BrianMay.com, Brian commenting, "I must find some way of getting that to Deacy." Or words to that effect - I can't be arsed hunting for it. |
| Brianmay1975 03.07.2004 05:01 |
Err, do you really think Brian is actually reading his guestbook?! Does anybody from his site read it? |
| Sonia Doris 03.07.2004 06:40 |
Maybe if he has the time... |
| Deaky's Middle Nut 03.07.2004 09:13 |
Ha ha ha ha ha. John is funny, if in fact he really wrote that. We shall never know..... |

| Brian_Mays_Wig 03.07.2004 09:41 |
I think Johns great :D |
| Penetration_Guru 03.07.2004 12:05 |
It could be easily be John - he does have a very twisted sense of humour. I'd say it was 50/50 |
| All Star 03.07.2004 12:40 |
yeah it probably was John, sort of thing he might write...probably the most work he's done in a day for a long time. Maybe he should take a holiday to recover, let them fingers rest Deacy... On a sidenote of course Brian and Roger are still in contact with John, if only for business purposes. But i doubt they see each other socially, which is a shame. |
| KillerQueen840 03.07.2004 14:45 |
I really don't think that it was actually John. |

| Sonia Doris 05.07.2004 12:16 |
It is John if you believe he is, I guess. I might as well be somebody else, but there is a huge chance to be him, too. What about that? :) |
| Soul Brother 06.07.2004 04:02 |
Should that not be: Comment: I am still around, enjoying my retirement! I have many aspirations, but I rather enjoy my children, and sitting around, collecting cheques for EVERYTHING I'VE DONE. |

StarShine wrote: That's not John! John would never post on Brian's soapbox. That's shit. How can you say that? Perhaps John's just playing around. Besides, I believe it's John, he's the kind of guy who would probably say something like that. I mean, it could easily be some guy playing around and sounding like John, but my guess is that it really is our favorite bass player. |
| Mr. Scully 07.07.2004 04:20 |
50% it's John 50% it's not John 100% nobody except the author himself knows the truth 100% I browsed the guestbook and don't see the message at all anyway [edit] I can see the message now. For some reason I overlooked it last time.[/edit] |
| StarShine 07.07.2004 09:47 |

No that was the real John, but a false Brian. The real Brian is terribly busy taking nude stereo pictures of all the slot mosheens in Las Vegas... |

| iGSM 07.07.2004 20:51 |
heh, stupid lucky retired rich bass player and to a lesser extent stupid lucky dead extremely rich estate lead singer/frontman/pianist. Regardless it is John. Or some guy called John. |
| high-flying-adored 07.07.2004 21:10 |
Clogs. Heeheehee. He's tall enough with his hair! Geez ... but yes, God only knows whether John or someone else was trying to cause a mass internet riot ... (and apparently, it worked.) Wheee. |
