What do you people think about the ongoing "lottery" on QOL where you can "win" one of these cabinets with all Queen albums if you send Greg Brooks 10 British Pounds? The idea is to get 40 fans to send in the 10 pounds and one out of the forty will be the lucky "winner". They have 16 cabinets to give away but apparently as yet not one has been won - maybe they did not find 40 fans who sent the money.
Is anyone here playing? And if yes - were you told if the shipping is free?
I remember sending an email to a person on this noticeboard I think, telling them I was interested in this lottery, being the gambler that I am. At the time I emailed this person, there weren't many details. However, I never received a return email on where I was to send the money or anything else. So I just forgot about it.
I emailed about it and got a reply from Greg. He simply explained to me about how the competition worked etc. But I didn't realise that it was for all the Queen albums. Nice prize.
I really can't spare any cash, though.
Peace,
Adam.

Wait, they have a quiz where you have to pay to be able to win something?? And if you don't win they get the 10 pounds? Sounds totally absurd. Did I understand this wrong or do they really have financial problems or what?
I think I figured it to be something like $17 U.S. at the time and decided I'd rather use the money for something new rather than a mere chance at another version of what I've already got a few times over.
That's how a raffle works actually. I emailed Greg Brooks and he told me all about it and to send 10 pounds which he thinks is about $16. I'm probably going to give it a try,but maybe in time for the 2nd or 3rd package. I would LOVE to have it.
The only issue with this is the source - they're claiming that they have to cover the costs of the box, but surely Queen prod can get them at cost, or even less?
Plus, nobody paid £400 for it, the most I saw was £380.
whinge whinge....moan...complain
I think it is a bit of a rip-off.
The box sets were originally offered for sale, but no-one was prepared to pay 400 pounds for them.
This is a way of getting 400 pounds for them, when they aren't really worth that.
I have got one of these, and they are OK, but i think most people would prefer the minature LP versions.
Also, how did this guy end up with so many of them? Did he just buy them when they came out. If so, that is rather excessive.

This guy? It's an official comp that includes Greg Brooks. It may be a bit excessive as far as pricing goes, but for half that, I'd say why not!

Adam.
Oh my stars!!! I've got the same set and didn't realise...
I'd like to know where Greg got all those sets too when they were purported to be "extremely limited edition". HA!
